You are not going to get better then low to mid settings on a 9800 with this game....its pretty demanding on video cards..
Thats silly why should you buy something like that , with the rig he has ?
Honestly its a waste of money , go for the lower serie , he should see a lot more performance and stability and cost saving too .
Why buy freaking state of the art graphic cards when the freaking drivers never are out on time .
Thats the whole issue with the graphic cards , no company going to pay programmers to program newest drivers for a 1% usage .
Honestly he has a 9800 anything upgraded is already beter then that , the cpu is quad core , anything using so many cores for gaming ?
I don´t have problems on my duo core , let alone a quat core ..
Now like said I am not even bothered upgrade yet , simply put nothing on the market that I say can last 4-5 years for the money I am willing to spend .
But well people can keep throwing away money on hardware cause its a hobby .
But people here say so much but you got finally a professional system analyst build into the window .
While you might agree or disagree personally , it based on the STATE OF THE ART HARDWARE those scores.
Sorry but your wrong about that ..His CPU is completly adequate for this game..thus he will see no performance boost by upgrading it. He will however see a major boost in perforamnce by upgrading his video card.. If his CPU was an old Pentium CPU..maybe then it would be lagging the game..But not a recent dual core or quad core.

Sure he could upgrade his GPU to something like a GTX 275 and it would be fine for now IF he overclocks his Q6600. However the Q6600 can't handle much more than that and it is a pretty hard processor to overclock and keep temps in check. Basically if you want to play this game a GTX 275 should be fine, however after that your CPU simply wont be able to keep up with any newer GPU. At that point he needs to buy a new platform anyway so IF he can afford it he might as well just do it now.

I still like my idea of parting out the system and building a new one. That's just me though![]()

Don't be recomending to someone they need a processor upgrade when it will not help him even a small amount..

min/recommended settings mean virtually nothing. I simply stated if he wants to buy a decent video card by today's standards he would NEED to upgrade his Q6600. Unless he does not care about the bottleneck that it will cause.
