Really loud static in game?

so I'll be playing everything is normal then a loud growling static will start in the background noise. Its so loud I have to play the game muted because my speakers and earphones cant take it. Its just grating. Is there any way to mess with the sound settings so I can figure out if this sound is part of the music or background effects? or is there a way to fix it? It didnt do it during beta.

I have the exact same problem! I can't find a fix. It is VERY annoying and is loud as hell!

I think Rift just scammed us to blow our eardrums out with buzzing noises while trying to enjoy a very buggy game.

I had the same issue but I think that i fixed it.

When you open rift log in as usual, but do not hit play, click the recover button. It will take some time but it checked my files then had to patch roughly 600 MB, may be different you other people. But once I did that and everything patch I have not have that static sound happen even once.
