    Default Rift Patcher fix (error 1021 and possibly others)

    Ok, i just found a fix for the problem
    Navigate to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\RIFT
    or %appdata%

    find the rift folder and delete riftpatch.cfg so it seems like there is a problem caused by the config.

    this just fixed error 1021, not sure if it will fix other errors but it never hurts to try.

    What happens if i've fully downloaded the client already?
    Will it corrupt that or will i have to redownload around 8GB?

    i replyed to your post in the other thread, and no it wont corrupt the game, its a settings file for the launcher and will rewrite its self as soon as you launch it.

    I'm trying this now for #1032...will update in a few.

    *Edit - Did not fix. "Patching server was unable to resume your download request." (Error #1032)

    That didn't work for me, i still cannot fix the problem, it gives me error #1021 and #1014? i don't know how to fix them :/

    Try to Run Selfpatchlive before u run Riftpatchlive, it worked for me and removed all errors with some additional update required.

    try running it in admin mode, that worked for me.

    okay, i found it and tried it but it said download failed instantly

    Did that still no luck I have also run as admin without any luck.

    Angry Starting to get Irate!!! #1021 & #2005

    =PROBLEMS=

    Errors #1021 (unable to connect with patch server),This is Annoying since i dont even get the chance to type in my Email adress or Account Password, IT WONT LET ME CLICK IN THE BOX! then it tries to autoload.
    Error #2005 (failed to connect to the authentication server)... no **** sherlock!
    Then after the recovery fails i get Error #1012.
    This all started on Monday, I have Collectors edition, and VIP beta pass, it was working well, i was lvl 15, but when it updated on [Mon 28. Feb 19:58:24 2011]

    =FAILED 'SOLUTIONS'=

    # Run as admin
    # I have changed The clock times on the Internet clock tab
    # Allowed Exceptions even Disabled firewall settings
    # no background programs (essential only, and hid all Microsoft programs)
    # Done the Ping command thing for patcher
    # sent DXDiag to tech support
    # Ive even UNINSTALLED the game, Re-downloaded it from steam for another 10 hours
    # Read all your articles concerning Authentication, Patcher, error #2005, error #1021 and all related articles from your FAQ's, forums, even STEAM forums, googled it EVERYTHING FOR THE LAST 4 days, i have spent at least 30 hours trying to fix this (how about a REAL PERSON address my issues for at least 1 hour eh?) Im sick of being sent the same template emails after I have told them it doesnt work
    #I cant ring Tech support because you dont have for Australia, WHY NOT!? I PAY SUBSCRIPTION FOR UPDATES AND TECH SUPPORT FFS
    # Ive worked with computers for about 13 years, so i have done my best to solve this

    HELP ME PLEASE! for tech support are incapable of physically addressing my issue

    We encountered with the same problem (Me and my friends) 3-4 days ago, and still having it. I couldn't find a solution either. Is there anyone in Rift staff who cares and feels responsibility against fellow players like us, that can help with this issue? Some of my friends already quitted this game, just because of this. I hope they hear our voice. Hello? Anyone?
