Black bars surrounding game

Since about 2 days ago their have been about 1 inch black bars surrounding my game screen,

Have you changed Graphics cards drivers ? or maybe you accidentally changed the screen resolution?

Only other thing that comes to mind is the scaling, i know in my Nvidia control panel under 'Display--> adjust desktop size and postion' i can change the aspect ratio, or change to full screen, same way as if you watch a DvD or Blu-Ray, changing to 4:3 or 16:9 'widescreen' will introduce black bars at the top and bottom

I'd play around with the aspect settings, on some monitor settings you can also grab the 'handles' and drag the screen to fill the monitor spece

Thanks for the help, but nothings changed with my drivers, scaling options , resolution etc etc,

Its weird, it used to be whenever I opened rift my desktop would get black bars and I would have do change the scaling options when I closed the game

I'm sorry to hear that you're having some strange display issues with RIFT. The first thing I would do is performing a clean startup to see if any non-essential startup services are interfering with the normal operations of the game.
