It is not. I just asked guild through Rift mobile and he is using win7 to play Rift now.

Similar problem. Click Play and straight to Error Message.

updated latest driver, tried "recover" button. Nothing helps.

I hope also, but i dont believe that new update will solve this issue. Because i try to loggin with my notebook, it can work, then i copy all Rift files to my computer, it just cant work, same Rift client but different computer just cant work. i tried many ways and many times to solved this problem still cant work now. i played this game for 6 months already never show up any isuue like this whatever patch update before, only this time.........very frustrate with the patch this time hotfix#8.....

Can anyone who's getting the crash on launch confirm whether they're using Chinese as their keyboard input language, and/or using IME? If so, does the problem go away if you switch the keyboard language to something other than Chinese?

I use Chinese as my input language, but when I switched to English and then launch RIFT, RIFT still crashed (the same error message came out).

Have you tried switching the Default input language to English? If you're on Windows 7:

- Open the Start Menu and type "region and language", then open that.
- Go to the Keyboards and Languages tab.
- Press Change keyboards...
- Select English as the Default input language.
- Press OK to accept the changes.

Now try launching RIFT again. Does it still crash?

I think everyone whos having trouble login should be given free play time from the first day they submit an error report coz basically we are paying money for not getting into game
