1) First rule: If you're the only one experiencing the problem, it is on your end.
2) Your PC is therefore obviously not fine.
Now, you have to figure out what is causing the crash. Look through your error logs in the Windows Event Viewer. You'll usually find something there. Also, random crashes can be the result of a lot of different things. Here's a few:
Corrupted video card driver, old video card driver, low memory/out of memory errors, thermal issues affecting CPU, motherboard or the video card. You could be having a power supply problem which, when the video card is taxed heavily... it drains more voltage from the PSP and if that is going bad... that will cause a system halt. You could have a registry error in Windows, you could have a problem with your RAM not being seated properly. Your video or sound card may not be seated properly. You could have dust buildup in your fans which can cause a thermal issue...
This list can go on for about 10 typed pages before I list everything that could be going wrong. The simple fact though is that your PC -is- having a problem because it is crashing. The game is not unplayable for hardly anyone but you... so the fact remains that it is on your end. Rift is a very high end game with fairly steep system requirements. It will tax your hardware a lot harder than any other MMO on the market. This means your video card will run hotter, your CPU will run hotter, and your case in general will run hotter. If you are having cooling issues whatsoever, Rift is one of the games that will find them.
And it also doesn't hurt to post your DXdiag file so we can at least have some sort of idea as to what you're running with rather than playing guessing games.
