    Default Random camera "Snapping"

An issue that has been hindering my game play for sometime. I've searched and found other people with the same issues but no sight of a 'fix'. This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igthufQcGBY) demonstrates the same buggy effect I am having.

I can reproduce this by moving the camera (LMB or RMB) and causing an in game action by keyboard input. Opening windows (inventory, character, skills, ect) and using spells/abilities. Running while moving the camera and spamming 1-1-2-5-ect to dps... this camera "snapping" happens on a constant basis. This also makes raid awareness a nightmare trying to avoid aoes, cliffs, waves, cleave, blah, blah.

    OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit
    Mouse: Logitech G700
    Keyboard: Ducky Cherry MX Brown

I have had this issue on two different systems.

I'm having the same issue on my PC. Drives me crazy....i'll be running one direction toward a mob and it'll snap me around and i'll be heading another direction, completely disorienting me.

I do not seem to have the problem on my laptop though and they both have Windows 7 and the same brand of mouse.

I just assumed it was something with my mouse and was going to replace it. I guess i'll have to take a closer look at the differences between the two computers. Maybe it's a driver thing.

If anyone has any suggestions though, feel free to throw them out there.

Happens to me too, On a multitude of different computers. It's been in the game since release but trion insists it doesn't exist....

After looking at all kinds of things I replaced my mouse and haven't seen the issues since.

I had the same thing- until I took the time to actually program my mouse (Razer Death Adder) and Keyboard (Black Widow) for the game. I'm assuming Rift has an issue with accidental taps of unprogramed buttons, wheels and keys that causes this. Even with a standard mouse and keybaord, try asinging the wheel press and any keys you commonly accidentally tap to something (preferable something that is minimally disruptive in a raid or the like) and see if that helps.

Happens to me all the time. I've lost count of how many times I died cause I ran off a cliff.

It's amazing that a game that's more than 1 year old still has this HUGE bug.

My mouse is a brand new Razer Naga.

Replaced my Razer Naga with the very old (but still awesome) Logitech MX518 and the camera snap bug is gone.

    Confirmed 100%.

At least now we know that it's hardware related (or maybe the driver).

Just as a test, have you tried disabling your mouse wheel using the mouse setting software to see if it still happens? It could be that the little wheel component in the mouse is defective.

    Found a solution.

Reduced the mouse polling rate from 1000MHz to 500MHz.

It solved the problem for my Razor Naga. Might work on other mouses with similar driver/configurations.

A blue should made this sticky.

How do you change the mouse polling?
