Monitor help plox
alrighty so im running low on cash cuz jus bout to order a new pc. for a monitor cud i jus use my 32 inch led 720p tv? its llike as thin as my finger. or shud i use a monitor. and wud there be a difference between using my tv and a monitor plz id apreciate any feed back
TVs as monitors work just fine. I do it in hotel rooms all the time, just make sure it has an RGB port since HDMI doesn't work for a lot of older games and you have to set up custom scaling.Originally Posted by iwinatlife
Also make sure the TV you want has a matte screen (glossy is awful.) I like Vizio a lot, and they sell 32 inchers starting at 250 or so.

Not much how you'd see it, if your happy with your TV use it, else get a dedicated monitor (which I suggest honestly, for different reasons)

thanks man. i was jus wondring if i wud be able to run rift fine on it. cudnt i use an hdmi cuz all my stuff is newer and so is the game. and the screen is matte
Get what you want, but scaling on HDMI is a pain and you have to manually turn it off. RGB will auto-detect and sleep with your machine like any normal monitor. RGB looks better for 720p anyways IMO since the color is more true and RGB can carry 720p natively.

oh also i saw under ur post it shows somthing about dell outlet wich im guessing u bought from them. well i was gettin a comp from them too. if u go to the xps 8300 with the i5 core it shud be the one for like 500-600 bucks it shows two certified refurbished deals. same specs but one is 549.99 and the other is 569.99. do you perhaps no y? go check it out
Call them, that's the only way you will ever know. When you buy it, get the accidental damage upgrade too. You won't regret it.

There is a $39 upgrade for the +complete care option. Get it. $40 bucks is worth a year of OH CRAP! protection.

like how is the 39$ upgrade better than the free warranty?
That TV is a monitor so you will do just fine.
