Waterfall affects issue

Running ATI 4870, Win7 x64 with 4gigs. MB and Video drivers are up to date.

It's been an issue since Beta, but up to now I've just avoided this by not going by any Waterfalls. I can swim in water without problems. However anytime I stand in a waterfall (Stonefield behind town or up near the instance entrance in Scarlet Gorge are examples), the system makes this very loud noise, screen goes black, and I have to force a hard reboot on the system as Alt-Tab is locked up.

I've tried enabling simple graphics in the game but it still happens. As I stated, it's an easy fix to not stand in the waterfalls but with Hammerknell coming out, our guild is a top raiding guild and I'm worried I'm going to be in a raid and have this happen. So I'd like to get this fixed

I don't think it's a graphic issue, as I can swim in water all day without problems, but as soon as you hear the waterfall "sound" is when the system goes haywire.

Any ideas?

same issue here...no ideas as yet..will try new graphics driver and see what happens. ATI 4890 win xp 32 bit 2 gig ram all drivers upto date after checking.

i just tried the latest 11.6 drivers and they seemed to have fix the waterfall bug. i even went and played in the waterfall for a bit to try and make it crash and i couldn't break it.

Try 11.6 and see if those help you out-fingers cross-

Have you tried updating your sound card drivers?
