Had also some Fps drop with my CrossFire of 6950 !

I removed one card and Fps was a little better.
Then i deleted everything in the rift.cfg file and launched the game again ... and surprise, i'am able to play again in ultra with more Fps than in low before (i mean 35 in sanctum, before in low it was 24).

When i compared old rift.cfg and the new one, some value in the old one was here and not in the new one, i think the problem come from here, probably after some game update, some variable was staying in the rift.cfg that should not !

Anyway, can Trion's team wake up and give an ETA of what is going on ?

Can we know if Trion is looking at this problem as we reported problem since month and month ?
Can we know (if yes to the first question), when we will be able to play in good condition ?

Thanks for your help - It wasnt there.

..BUT.. with your clues, I did find it.. no idea how I did it this way, but the path is:

C:\Games\CoD MW2\SteamApps\common (all my steam games)

You can see how I would overlook Steam being hidden in a COD folder!

    Thanks for your help.

3 months ago I was playing Rift on Ultra maxed out settings with FPS of 60-80 in any area. Now in the last few weeks its down to between 25-40 which is totally unacceptable.

My rig is high end and I'm just tearing my hair out with this nonsense. What the hell is going on with this game?

    My rig:

    2500k i5 overclocked to 4.5ghz water cooled
    580 GTX 1gb
    8gb RAM
    Win 7 64

I really won't be buying anymore sub time after it runs out in 2 months. I love Rift but I cant stand how badly it runs and nobody knows why including Trion.

    Hmmm...

I run pretty much your system, max graphics etc. 1680x1050 res. (don't know yours)

    win7, 8gb ram, gtx 570 1.28gb (o/c gpu core that tbh makes it as fast/faster than a stock 580 just about) and i5 2500k o/c'ed very stable on 4.5ghz

I never...got 60 - 80fps in every area. Maybe 60 - 75 if I at blank rooms. 40 - 60 is pretty common, some pretty high stress areas with ever zoning in boatloads of people get to 30 - 35fps. I think if the whole server gathers in meridian it goes down to 25 - 27fps.

I still for the most part see 35 - 50 I would say in places that matter. That is fluid enough to me. It just seems odd though as I never saw performance as high as you speak of but my performance that hasn't changed is better than what you are describing now. /shrug, you should be pretty much running copy cat as my Rift is running from the sounds of it.

I use the most recent Nvidia drivers FWIW. I never saw a change in performance though.

I have Phenom X6 runing at 3,8 Ghz (should be enough) and a brand new GTX 670 (with a new Windows installation) and i only have around 40 fps for the most parts, open areas usually around 30 it seems. WTF?
Oh and by the way it uses around 90% of my GPU, so I don't think the issue is there. Freaking weird engine this is.

Am i wrong if i say, that Trion did not yet comment on the issue at all? Many ppl saying, if Rift will just work bit better.. they would love it...

Trion, please fix this game for AMD video cards; I cannot get more than 15fps with 8GB of RAM, a Core i5 and a 2GB HD6950. I've tried every tip and suggestion everywhere on the web. I've tested other memory, and I've properly cooled/powered my rig. I shouldn't have to shell out another $260 for an equivalent nvidia card just to play ONE game at proper frame rates.

My FPS has gone from 20 to 7 just in Meridian alone. Since 1.9 was released I've only logged on a few times, and never for more then a few minutes. All of settings are at their lowest or off completely. I can't hardly move at this rate, and I'm not even in combat yet.

Its just a crappy engine, I'm running a 3930k @ 4.2Ghz, with a GTX680, 35-40fps in Sanctum, 50-80 fps out questing, and thats with all CPU related graphic options turned down. Out questing is obviously fine, but in a city or a rift with lots of people, hell even some dungeons, it will slow down to 30-40fps roughly.

I can play BF3 on ultra, and encode an MKV from a bluray at the same time, and still get around 60fps.

    Default Game Booster 3

This program gave me+5-10 fps increase, doesnt sound like much, but everything runs a tad bit smoother. (except for conquest, lol but i'm sure everyone experiences lag in conquest)

Has the problem with AMD processors and ATI cards ever been solved?

    I've got Windows 7
AMD Phenom II X4 quad core
    6gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4650 1024 mb

and I get 25ish fps on min-low settings and 15-20 tops on high-ultra. While it's not a stellar pc, it's way over the recommended requirements and I shouldn't get that low FPS, especially when I can run games like Skyrim at nearly max settings.

I tried every possible fix but to no avail. I've even done a fresh system reinstall with finally the latest drivers (because for some reason, Catalyst 12.3 wouldn't update to 12.6, even when cleaning the drivers in safe mode).

From what I read, it seems like the situation is still the same for everyone experiencing the problem, but I'm posting this anyway both in hope to get a response with a fix, and as a reminder to Trion to do something about it.

Default not just amd and ati

I'm getting ultra low fps also. i'm running a i7-3820 @ 4.5 with 16gigs of ram and GTX 570's in 4-way sli and can't stay above 20 in sanctum. all 4 cards are oc'd to 850mhz and still ultra low frame rates. i get better fps in heaven 2.1 benchmark everything maxed. i realize that at 1920*1080 res i'm cpu bottle necked but i get great fps in everything other then rift.
