    Default b132a58a0c2ff23d14e7?

What is this? I did a complete re-format because I did not know where this folder came from. After the re-format the only program I have installed is Rift and now this file has returned. I want to know what the hell this is. Its not even in the Rift folder and it has very suspicious content in it.

I want a Rift employee to address this.

This is what is in one of the folders...

It's obviously hex but it's not an md5 hash, nor does it convert to anything coherent.

I have no idea what it could be because, while it's definitely hex, the entire thing isn't base 16 (10 groups of 2 characters).

Obviously this is Trion's fault. They're in collusion with Microsoft to create temp folders on your hard drive for Windows Updates.

I love the fact that you used the actual folder name for the thread title. ;)

As a previous poster linked, these folders are created by Windows when running Updates. Sometimes they don't get properly deleted. You can delete that folder with no ill effects. (Or at least I haven't encountered any)

I think I'm more impressed with the fact that you haven't seen them before. I saw them constantly in XP and semi rarely in Vista and 7.

The OP has got to be a troll post, especially when they've put:

Its not even in the Rift folder and it has very suspicious content in it.

I want a Rift employee to address this.
And then you post details about one of the files quoting Microsoft's T&C's....

Seriously OP, think about it for a minute.

The details you have posted should be pretty good indicators that in all probability Trion have nothing to do with that file / folder. So demanding a "Rift employee" address this is quite ridiculous.

I'm not sure whether to believe this post or not. They're capable of formatting and reinstalling Windows but have never seen system folders?
