    Default Possible Upgrade

    Hello fellow techies!

I built a mid-grade gaming rig last November and I am currently running my rig on a EVGA Nvidia 9500 GT.

I was looking into possibly getting a Nvidia 460 (not sure which model yet but I don't believe that matters).

Onto the point: I was wondering how much of an FPS increase I will see with this upgrade. I currently run Rift at Medium Settings with some tweaks to increase spell effects to my likings at about 17-20 fps.

Could anyone give me an estimate/benchmark of what the 460 is capable of running in Rift?

When I moved from my Radeon 3850 to the 460, the difference was very noticeable even though my processor was limiting what I could do. It's a worthwhile investment; if I remember right, the 9500 GT is around the same generation as the 3850.

Depends on the rest of your system, assuming the processor is not a bottleneck you will be running ultra settings no sweat. Yes there are a couple of different model 460's, the one's to avoid are the GTX460SE, which is the crippled version.

You say you built a gaming rig last November?.. With a 9500GT? What is the rest of your system specs?

As I said it isn't top of the line but it has suited my needs fine since I am just getting into PC gaming.

    I am running:
Intel Core i3 Dual Core 2.93GHz w/ Hyperthreading
    8 GB of RAM
1 TB HDD (Looking into an SSD eventually)
    EVGA Nvidia 9500 GT
    Win7 Ultimate 64-bit

Edit: This was on a very low budget.
