"Corrupt patch data warning" -- can't log in

Today (Saturday, 2-April) after patching up from yesterday's version successfully, it seemed the game would launch but instead this message displayed:



I then received the option to send an error report. Restarting the patcher doesn't resolve the issue.

Any known workarounds?
("Wait for the next update" -- I'm aware of this solution )

Previous successful login: 1-April, Friday
OS: Win 7 Home Premium SP1

are you trying to hit the update button or is rift asking to update the patcher?
not sure whats goin on here.

Same problem, was so pumped to play. Load up, Click Update, updates to 1.11 with the d/l. Says it worked, hit play, then wham, black screen 1/2 loaded the game crash gives that error popup, then asks me to send them an error report.

Funny that the error report has two options, one to keep playing and send, and one to close and send, clicking keep playing just makes the game try to auto-restart, which gives another error for another error message and an additional reboot. I sent in about 6 of those quick so they get the drift.

Recover says I need to d/l about 800megs now. Excellent.

So far I have had to d/l this game 2 times for it to crash and restart at 0% with about a day to d/l it again. Probably why its broken now. Gotta love playing new release games, as a Software Developer I totally understand.

Got the game 3 days ago, only lv 9, I've played the "Try to get the stupid game to work" more then I've played my cleric. Good times.

Lets hope the OP didn't respond because his Recovery Option worked. I really don't want to have to wait another 25 hours to try to re-install the patch. This is starting to remind me of Age of Conan, having to manually make directory backups for when stuff inevitably breaks.
