    Default Performance Issues?

    Hello all,

I currently have and I-7 870 ( no overclock,) recently got Gtx 570's and put them in SLI and 8 gb's of ram. My question is, why with those specs am I not getting better frame rates above the default "Ultra" settings? I have filtering at 8 and, anti-alias at "super sampling" and everything else at about the default "ultra" settings and I am only getting 45 - 60 frames and in rifts and towns lower 20 - 50. Does that seem right to you guys?

Resolution is 1650 x 1080, I do have dual monitors but I play at "full-screen."

Yes I got the most recent drivers.

Any help / guidance is appreciated.

SS takes a big hit in Rift same goes for clutter. AF after 4 is very little difference.
SLI/corssfire dont scale very in most games.

A single GTX 570 in Rift will give you close to same performance as in SLI. Unfortunately that the way it is.
Until Nvida/AMD/Trion works on getting Rift optimized, were all gonna have to wait.

Hmmm, ok, yea in other game SLI works great but yea as for Rift its ok at best it seems to me. However I have been reading across the forums, people with SLI have been have great success.... I m not sure.

I appreciate the comment Kalec. I guess Ill screw around with some things, anyone else?

Going to go ahead & disagree with you on the Sli scaling there Kalec. I've already tested a couple of different Sli configs & scaling was in the region of 80% FPS increase. If your not seeing that then theres something wrong with your rig.

OP: Low resolution, WAY to low for a Sli setup. The lower the resolution you are the more CPU grunt you need. Double check you've got Sli enabled in Nvidia control panel. Also SS AA will kill everyone's FPS, not just yours.

Yea, I know I am in the process of getting another monitor, but still I dont think it should be that low. I am in Nvdia control panel and I have "Maximize 3D Performance" checked.

You think its the fact I have two monitors running? They are not the same monitors or resolutions.

Thanks for the help so far C-Buzz

I think your FPS are pretty much spot on for your hardware. Just my opinion.

Do you think they would increase if I were to get a monitor with 1920 x 1080 or something higher resolutions wise?

    Again I appreciate the help.

Perhaps, the biggest performance increase will come from processor speed in your situation.
