nVidia 8800 GTX - Screen flashes than game freezes.

Hi everyone

I am having a problem with Rift.

I am running the game on a Intel Quad Core, Windows 7 machine, All W7 updates plus latest drivers. The game screen flashes once then it freezes... than it hangs, sound still playing. Rift's error handler pops up, send the error report and I restart the game.

I switched to fullscreen windowed mode. Now the game doesn't hang every time. When the screen flashes I just click on the game screen and I keep playing. But I'm not lucky all the time. It still freezes.

I have no fps issues, the game is at graphical max. Just this issue. I wouldn't post, but now it hangs whenever I am in Meridian in front of the auctioner (not a lot of people around me). Any ideas?

No issues with other games.

After running memory tests and getting errors. After changing dimms and after running HDD tests for hours, i figured it out. Turns out that the whole problem was the mb's bios. Once updated, it worked like a charm.

Now no corrupted data, no freezes, runs perfect... so far. So if you have any of the before mentioned issues you should try updating your bios.
