    Default Rogues & Upcoming PvP Specific Changes

    Hey everyone,

    Since the release of Storm Legion we’ve been keeping an eye on PvP and the effectiveness of all the callings. Through our observations, your feedback, and the data we have available we’ve identified some core areas we’re going to improve to make sure Rogues fall back into line with the others.

    We’re going to start by reducing the burst damage of a handful of specific abilities and making sure that certain combinations do not allow consistently high burst, survivability, and mobility at the same time. These changes will only apply when engaged in PvP.

    The plan is to get the first round of these updates out in the next Hot Fix with any additional changes to follow if required.

    Question: are there plans to provide PvP-only buffs to certain abilities so that rogues don't have low sustained damage in PvP? Our current sustained is too high, but so much of our damage is wrapped up in our burst that I'm concerned that lowering burst makes our sustained damage pitifully low.

    For instance, significantly reducing Empowered Shot and perhaps Rapid Fire Shot/Deadeye Shot, but slightly buffing Swift Shot and Hasted Shot would keep rogue sustained damage on decent footing, but get rid of the absurd burst we have right now.

    Keep in mind please that healing was buffed and I notice the difference it has made. Lets not go back to the days where mana draining a healer or depending on wars lingering wound to kill a healer. Jumping around laughing while half the team is chasing around trying to kill him. After all most of the complaints happened before healing was buffed.

    Please bear in mind that the problem with nb/rs is not the nb half - it's the /rs part which awards too much damage in exchange for the mobility and defensive traits it offers.

    Heat retention, both in combination with the NB soul itself and other specs enables rogue specs to easily crit over 10k.

    So yes, there is a problem with the NB soul.

    WOW. You guys are finally making balance changes that don't effect PvE.

    Trion listened?

    Can't wait to see the changes, glad to see pvp is getting the much needed attention.

    Are you referring to the MM/NB type gimmicky builds? My NB definitely doesn't crit over 10k

    Though yeah, that wouldn't hurt being restricted to NB-only just in case.

    Honestly if you removed a lot of the damage from RS it would improve things a lot.
    Other than that, Empowered Shot needs a damage reduction. Can't really think of anything else that really stands out to me for Rogues anyways.

    I cant tell you how awesome it is that you guys are communicating with us and making pvp specific changes. So grateful and looking forward to seeing the specifics of these changes.

    That+5% gave me a whopping 600 extra heals on my largest heal crit and about 20 on my smallest.

    If you can feel that you are either an uber tank or a nimrod.

    So they plan to nerf the burst of everybody right? Because every calling played under the right hands bursts just about the same. My rogue goes toe to toe with pyro's and high dps clerics and it is a close call if we make a stand-off. I hope this is done right and to actual burst abilities, not just abilities people moan about here.
