No, really.
I know I made a thread earlier complaining, but it really can be fun if played right. Played a bit with Kota and loved it.
I still want my Warfront of nothing but mass destruction but Conquest is still fun for me lol.

Conquest is utterly boring.
Running around a HUGE map and tagging extractors is NOT fun. Standing there and waiting 30 seconds or so for it to cap is NOT fun. Being a good guy and going around tagging extractors for your team, avoiding all PVP confrontation, while the rest of your raid goes and kills everybody else, is NOT fun.
The only time I've had fun during Conquest was during the zerg battles. HUGE EPIC 60 VS 60 VS 60 PVP BATTLE ROYALS is what makes Conquest fun. Not this boring PVE objective based rinse-and-repeat that Trion is forcing us to play.
My face when I see all the unnecessary hate:

Literally.
Conquest is pretty fun if you don't play it like a mouth-breathing idiot and aren't primarily motivated by getting your SWEET P50 GEAR so you can quit due to "boredom" (a.k.a. not having any excuses for getting rolled).

Kota already has his gear and we played it in our own 2-man Raid lol. We started out in the zerg, then broke off with like five other people and did our own thing, while killing unsuspecting smaller groups as well. I enjoyed it and so did he.
I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about. People DO go off on their own in that map. I think we ran into a zerg by ourselves like once or twice through-out the entire match.
If you defend extractors and use your map. It is really, really easy to figure out the path a zerg is taking.
OH and then promptly ambush them and smash them to pieces while maintaining your extractors.
Of course, people just want to bash each other in the face with rocks all day.
It's a decent way to pass some time, but viewing it purely from an "is it a successful PvP encounter?" perspective, it is so-so at best. I think Trion would have been better served by doing what the GW2 developers have done, and drawing ideas from previous successful mass PvP systems the likes of which we saw in Shadowbane and latterly Darkfall Online.
Trion could make one hell of a good persistent, multi-zoned Plane vs. Plane encounter with objectives to capture and hold in different planes, that give different rewards whilst held, and also a bonus reward at the end of a 1-2 week cycle. Instead of choosing a faction every time you enter a match, you pick your faction and you're locked to it. They could include siege warfare, buffs/debuffs relative to each plane - e.g. if a faction holds the central keep in the plane of fire, they get a bonus when invading the plane of water, etc - and even have include player-spawned PvE objectives, such as an invading force already in control of one plane could stack a special resource that allows them to spawn a faction-friendly siege colossus that helps them when invading another plane, and so on.
They could even encourage regular open world PvP by having access to the other planes made available by special PvP Rift lures that you use at raid tears, that set off an event which, if the faction that opened the tear is successful, sees the temporary creation of a portal to the relevant elemental plane at the tear's location.
I don't care much for the rewards, everyone is so caught up on the rewards. I think it is fun for what it is, though I wish for a siege like combat and more flare. I'm sure thats not going to happen so I just enjoy conquest for what it is. If your not finding the fight you are doing it wrong and your zerg is doing it wrong. While capping and defending the extractors I easily get a HUGE amount of fighting done. It gets crazy with getting surrounded by both opposing factions, ambushing, assulting and so much more. If you think the zerg is doing the wrong thing, speak up, set up or shut up. do not come here and complain if you've not even tried to better your playing experience or better your team. Just my opinion.
