    Last time I checked Conquest is a PvP zone - People are supposed to kill one another, capturing some lame extractor, while it awards more favor than killing another person is simply bull****.
    This is an mmo, not a fps.
    Killing for the sake of killing is fun open-world, but even then it can get boring. Objectives are a way of giving me a reason for killing you. You get in my way, I melt your face.
    Objectives also give lower ranked or geared people to compete. You don't have to be r50 to cap an extractor.
    Do you not, or have you not done pvp dailies? That is some of the best open-world pvp and it is objective-oriented....
    I don't know what matches you were in, but we still had some farming going on at TT and CM. We got a lot less favor for it, but who cares? I had fun smashing Dom and Oath faces and actually winning. Our matches ended by kills in all but one way before anyone was close to 60%. So there were no less kills than before the patch. It just took a little longer to get them bc we didn't get the initial rush at CM since there was no boss there. We actually had to use that time to go cap stuff. So we proceeded to cap CM and the stuff around it, figure out how to cap more without over-extending and we led the whole match until the boss at CM spawned and threw us for a loop. In the time we spent killing the boss, Dom pulled ahead and we couldn't catch up.
    The next match we corrected that mistake by only having a few on the boss while the rest of us capped **** and smashed anyone in our way and we ended up tying with Dom. Hellz to the yeahs!!!
    And after the tie the pvp was on, zerg vs. zerg until the timer expired. No one cared about the boss, but he died in the process.
    The next match we won. That's right. NF won. AND we pushed to get all the kills out of the way so they weren't wasted. So I had a lot of fun AND a lot of pvp.

    I think the best thing Trion could do to end all the QQ'ing of "pvp is simply killing" is come up with a deathmatch type wf for people with a fps mentality on pvp.

    Couldn't have said it better. I loved CQ because even with little valour (rank 15, 250k favour and I'm still waiting to get the last of my first PVP set) I could still contribute! I was more than just a "lol, watch me blow up this cleric!" to the opposing team.

    I felt useful in PVP for the first time, I LOVED that feeling.

    note the past tense.

    CQ has turned into Codex 2.0. Only with more riding and less pew pew. Please, Trion, Let the people who enjoyed Codex do Codex, let the people who enjoyed large scale PVP enjoy large scale PVP!

    My guild and I were really having fun. So was the wife. Killing a lot is a lot of fun. It's like PvP! But no longer. :-(

    Now I feel so much of my time is just spent staring at the screen watching a bar fill up... The run somwhere else just to sit and wait and watch a bar fill up.

    BORING!!!!! Hate it.

    You had a winner. The event was so much fun I just couldn't wait to play it. Reduce rewards if you must. But you made a really fun event into a run and sit fest. And then run and sit. And run and sit... and sit... Not so much PvP anymore. Not so much killing anymore. Not so much fun anymore :-(
    It is interesting how people can view things from such opposite viewpoints. i thought Conquest before yesterday was lame from a strategic gaming sense. The only way to be rewarded was to be at the leading edge of a zerg. Defense is now more of an element, as is the crafting aspect. If simple killing for the sake of killing is all you want, then the instance needs to be nothing more than an empty open field to duke it out in.

    Several of us guildies went in together last night and had more fun than we've ever had in Conquest. Though more changes could be made, I think Trion took a big step in the right direction.

    I think they are headed in the right direction but need to put more emphasis on holding extractors. Its really not even worth updgrading them because they are rolled so quickly by the zergs. Its a game of whack a mole right now. They should increase defenses of the extractors such that it is desireable to leave a group behind to defend. Put the extractors in mini forts like DAOC where you have a door choke point where a small group can hold off a zerg for a bit.

    You said whack a mole...lol...that made me choke on my drink. But you're right, that's pretty much what it is sometimes. The terrain makes it hard to cap some of the extactors (never liked SMs terrain in the first place). That's why I like hanging aroung CM and TT so much. Put 3 CMs on the map and that would be interesting. Or, as you suggest, less extractors that are fortified with walls and such...hmmm
