Actually, the playerbase -is- responsible for exploiting a hole in the system. If you ever bothered to try and play Conquest on the PTS, there was almost 0 spawn camping and any attempts at it were quickly snuffed out. Most people focused on capturing the objectives and the game flowed really nice and overall it seemed like it was pretty much ready to go live.
Unfortunately the live playerbase seems to have a good number of people who prefer to exploit mechanics that, on the test server, weren't really noticed due to, y'know, people playing the game the right way as it was intended.
Trying to escape the consequences for using the Conquest system in an unintended way in order to raise your prestige/favor up by speeds that are highly unintentional is very childish. Pushing the blame to Trion is very selfish and childish as well since it's clear that they didn't foresee it happening like that. If the "obvious thing to do" is to cheat the system for your own personal gains, then there's really a problem right there. And it's hardly Trion's problem; it's yours, and other players who have similar mindsets. Hopefully they'll see this as a lesson though and remember not to leave any holes open for people like you to exploit.
And Trion hardly failed with Patch 1.9. Overall the new additions are great and something other popular MMOs greatly lack. Maybe if problems persist in a month's time that's something to talk about, but so far Trion's been doing a great job at quickly working on addressing the problems that have been popping up with the patch. Hell of a lot better than what other MMO companies would have done within a week's time (since this patch has only been out for a little beyond a week). And chances are that before this week ends there will be several more issues fixed. Personally though, I'm having a blast with Mentoring in lower level areas/Instant Adventures and the Summerfest event.
