Thread: Player survival in PvP is too low

    We have class soul combinations that do healing, support,dr reductions, mobility and damage in one spec and they do it too well. This is the problem and why balance is wrecked in this game. If players are doing high dps in a spec where the survivability is through the roof then that breaks balance. The only classes that can do that are /rs -top dps build is bloodstalker icar--inquisicars and pyro/locks--also top dps. Then we have cloro/doms rs/bards and senticars...all troll spec....no spec warriors have can match those...sorry but this is just pure facts. Warriors have the lowest survival in the game even in full 66 point specs in tank and with lowest utility and support. There is always a hard counter for warriors..other classes just have too many things against warriors and IMO when they gutted the VK they really messed up warriors in this game. Sure they have high aoe damage via riftstorm but any of the specs I mentioned above can deal with it. And dom hard counters everything a warrior can do..no matter what spec they use.

    Disclaimer: I did not read this tread and just skipped to the last page.

    That being said... learn to los dammit. In pos this weekend there were tons of matches where I died less than 5 times. Now part of it was because I used my troll/rs spec but I would have had SEVERAL more deaths if I hadn't used los and hid while I drank my embrosia. Don't overextended learn to los. It's what separates the good (not saying I'm good, quite the opposite really) from the bad.

    I think 1.8 has made most of us realize how balanced 1.7 really was outside of a few very small tweaks. This pvp is just garbage and is not rewarding for anyone. 1.8 was the death of team pvp

    They dont want players to survive longer. If they did then they wouldnt have nerfed healing by such large amounts.

    So you rather go back to healers tanking 5 people while keeping themselves and their party up? How about hell no.

    When did I suggest anything? OP complained about survivability and asked to readjust valor so people last longer. I just made the point that people were lasting longer and then nerfed it. I dont see them turning around and adjusting Valor again which in turn would be a buff to us healers.

    I don't even understand why there is a discussion about this anyways. Increasing valor/healing would just make pvp a snorefest. Who wants to play a wf where it takes half your mana pool to down someone? What is the point of that?
    Warfronts should be quick, dirty and ruthless. If a group of people have problems taking down 1 person its a problem. Means something is wrong. If they increase valor again i think ill cry. When 1.7 was released it was as if i was watching grass grow. I rather there not even be valor. Watching people melt would be more interesting then a person rolling their face over the keyboard not even being able to scratch a person.

    Thats nice if your a DPS. Personally I enjoyed healing (and still do).

    Your generalizing groups of people attacking a Cleric and not being able to take them down, in reality its that way for each class. Usually the group is lower gear than the Cleric keeping themselves alive. It happens with every other class as well, not just Clerics.

    Why should a p12 be able to single-handedly take a p40 healer out? The answer is they shouldnt.

    The other argument for healers is that, yea I might be able to survive your attacks for some time, but guess what, I CANT KILL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    So now that nerf is in effect, shouldnt I be able to fight back? I mean, fair is fair after all.

    (This discussion has now been sidetracked a bit. And I am not complaining about healing now, I still can do it and still can do it well, just making a point.)

    Lunacresia, that's been a big complaint of mine for a long time. Damage doubled while healthpools didn't raise at all. DPS is out of control in this game.

    It was really refreshing playing that "other" game one weekend and being able to be 1v5'd and still be able to escape to fight another day.

    After 1.8 good DPS and assist is more importent in wf than healers.

    No healer live longer than 5sec if 2-3 good dps assist on him.

    Seen many wf when the side without healer win because of good assist.

    I think its sad when a warrior(Skarbor) can kill me in seconds as a healer when i cast 40% dmg reduction self shield and use a hot potion and I'm a r40 withover 1400 valor. Maybe i'm just bad healer.

    There's good and bad to that. It would probably be a good step to give pure healers the ability to proc a single target CC spell when taking damage, but if healers can kill normal dps and heal, there's no reason to not be a healer.

    But good healers still can't be soloed, and good healers won't go running around without someone who can eat their attacker up while they heal through the damage.

    I'm sure the 5 in your 1v5 thought that fight was just as refreshing as you did.
