As for the clip with me in it... Starts out with me at 50%, He already has GoS up and Heatwave. Not only that, a MM joins in later to finish me off. He ends at 1/3 health. My only death of that warfront.

Cool vid, good music choice, and the thread has also been entertaining.

It's always cool watching an 'elite' so intent on flaming somebody of his same class - who has put the time and effort into making a decent enough video (not the best, but pretty good) - to only succeed in making himself look more and more like an idiot.

It's silly justifying a bad choice when he's got at least 5 other non-dot instas than can interrupt a cleric drinking... Find me a good pyro who disagrees...

lol you realize it was a flame bolt he cast right? The dot was combust from the talent. What non dot instants did he have available pray tell? Just actually think about it for a second. We both know he's 51 pyro 15 lock 0 archon. You gonna waste a draining bolt which isn't even instant hit? How about a countdown which is bad for the reasons you argued earlier? Can't use inferno, too far for flame jet, and fulminate is a stupid idea even if he did have full charge. Maybe you could use one of the pyro cc instants but all those are equally stupid for that situation. Flame bolt was what he used if you actually watch the footage and see it go on cooldown and I can't think of anything better, can you?

Actually rift tomb is probably the only potentially better choice but the fact is he only had to use a fear to get that cleric to blow his break free so it's kind of a moot point anyway

CC, they break free, rift tomb w/ full charge after they can be cc'd again is the best cc combo a mage has. Rift Tomb is immune to all damage instantly, therefore unbreakable as long as you have charge and they have no counters to it. It is the best choice, yes, by far. DoT+Fear it is one of the worst choice because there is no control and the cleric...is...still healing the party

Had he been doing anything smart, when the cleric was no longer immune from the break free, he would have re-cc'd with anything (rift tomb, Fear)

Better choices:
flashfire, cleric breaks, Fear (cleric can't heal the party)
backdraft, cleric breaks, Fear (cleric can't heal the party)
Fear, cleric breaks, Rift Tomb (cleric can't heal the party)


And even IF I gave him any credit for his "choice" the only thing he showed is that <smash hand randomly on keyboard> will interrupt someone drinking a water, and how little most pug clerics pay attention to anything at all and will let someone die right under their very eyes while they are healing. Hardly video worthy at all. A good video will showcase playing against known good players, known good teams, 1v2's, 1v3's, fighting against odds, multiple spec knowledge, and good mages should show how they can man-handle a whole team at once and survive. My sig for instance, has all of that. Just get tired of pug heatwave macro spam videos by people with opening (scroll to page 1) statements that are arrogant and claiming to be awesomesauce. Had he admitted that this video was just average by all accords, I'd be quieter and accepting.
