Agreed with the OP. I absolutely don't understand the logic of it. Why ruin pvp for everyone just so a few people can burst their ego? I mean, they're level 39, all they can do is own in PvP, what's the point? Is it really worth ruining the normal leveling players' experience over this?

That's not the issue. Everytime anyone asks me the ratio of wins to losses in this game whenever I pvp, I -always- tell them "win some, lose some". That's what I loved about this games pvp. Now its "is there a twink or two in the WF? you lose, if not, you have a chance".

Balanced PvP. It doesn't exist in an MMO, it never will, but trying to FUBAR the balance is completely asinine, and it really shows the maturity level of the people who twink and decimate the other side. They're not in it to have a balanced match, they never will be. These are the same people who level every class to 50, and only play the class/spec that's OP for that month. Once it gets nerfed, they go to the next OP class. These people will always exist, they will always hurt MMORPGs.
This is Trion's response to two things: PvEers wanting to experience more of the zones before outleveling it, and (this is sarcasm) too many posts stating that pvp from 10-49 was FUN, not so much at level 50. To "fix" the problem, they made 10-49 just as "fun" as 50 is to a newb.

I can concede that the 10-19 brackets may contain individuals who enjoy a no contest match, however you just cannot apply that to every subsequent PvP bracket.

Warfronts are just that...where you go to war! It's about learning what builds can counter other classes and spending a bit of time on your character.

This is not WoW, the so called twinking mechanics are not the same here.

Anyone can compete and make a difference!

You do not need the best augments or runes, there are plenty of alternatives both armor and weapon wise and means of getting them.

If you go into a warfront at level 30 you will of course be flattened by any 39, twinked or not.

I play to win and if you can't be bothered to upgrade your gear then you are not really contributing much to your sides cause.

I can't believe this is an issue when you can gear up in about a week. I only came back to the game when I heard about locked xp. I don't play much and I was tired of falling behind with the lvl 50 ranks going up every few patches. In a month I was able to get a lvl 49 toon with full gear and I will still be competitive even if I take a few months off.

I tend to keep track of other twinks in my warfronts and I'm surprised if there is another geared player. Most of the "twinks" I see are lvl 49 that decided to get a full source engine? for lessers and whatever they could find on the auction house. However, most of the players I see come in with greens they got questing at lvl 30 and 3-4 lessers equipped. This is at least half the warfront! Before I stepped foot in lvl 50 warfronts I ran dungeons and hit the auction house to upgrade my gear before the slaughter.

Seriously guys, spend some plat and spend a week doing invasions so that you will NEVER have to gear up again.

This is what it comes down to right here most people feel they should be able to be competitive half geared with no essences in all greens. They should stop being lazy [EDIT] and get gear the situation is no different than what will occur at 50, no different whatsoever. The only difference is these failures think that Trion can program their way out of the gear treadmill the game is based on (before 50 and after). Your all deluding yourselves they cannot.

Solution is to put the locked-xp toons in their own Warfronts with only other locked-xp people. Then they won't bother anyone else.

Of course 90% of them will quit twinking because they can't roll noobs anymore, but I'm ok with that. Only 10% of the twinks do it for 'skill' reasons. The rest just like to play God-mode.

Ah, so you like rolling leveling people with your twink?

Trion *can* program their way out of this for leveling toons vs locked-xp twinks. Simple. Make distinct, separate WF queues for locked-xp toons. Let the twinks fight each other, and watch 90% of them quit when they can't one or two-shot everyone anymore.

If you are mad you're dying to twinks you are going to be extremely disappointed when you are 50. Perhaps PVP is not for you.

I actually don't PvP at all, but, new people coming into the game quittng because they get one-shot by twinks all the time is bad for the game. Killing new blood off coming in is very bad for sub numbers.

Trion will solve this soon, one way or another, I think . They'll either remove xp-lock completely, or (and this is my preferred solution, I like XP lock for PvE so I don't quest past the story) make xp-locked WFs for the twinks, and watch them all quit.

I've seen all the BS before where twinks swear they just want to fight other twinks. Go sell your crap to someone else. I don't buy it. When Blizzard implemented twink-only/locked-xp only BGs, they were ghost queues, because the twinks didn't want to fight each other. Problem solved, and Trion should do the same. Losing new blood because of a bunch of God-mode children is bad for the bottom line, so they *will* fix it.

Bye now, God-mode child. Have fun one-shotting the noobs as long as it lasts, since that's the kind of PvP you enjoy.

Gear doesn't equal roflstomp, sure it helps. But 95% of the players are keyboard drooling macro spamming baddies. Even i drool sometimes

So why exactly do you feel the need to comment in this thread if you don't PvP at all? Exactly how is twinking affecting you?

THIS IS NOT WOW. TRION IS NOT BLIZZARD.

Hey lets compare it to EQ2 instead shall we, where level locked battlegrounds were the norm, and no one spent all their time on forums crying about it.

I have a twink in the 39 bracket and recently leveled a healing cleric from 26-50 mostly pvping.

I did so completely untwinked. No enchants, no crafted gear, only gear was from dungeon drops when I ran them.

I was traditionally highest healing and also a priority target. I'd die in 1-2 globals from some hard hitting twinks, but when each side had a few it was a fairly balanced encounter.

The problem as I saw it, was things blew up too quickly to get some good heals going. Also there were more defiant twinks than guardian. I'd load up a match and see 4-5 level capped defiant and my team was mostly 31-33 in greens.

If they want a solution that satisfies both sides, balance the level capped players (assuming they are geared twinks) on each side.

I do enjoy twinking, I would enjoy it if it was only twinks vs. twinks, but realistically there aren't enough to support it. Could hope for a 3v3, maybe 5v5 in primetime.

It is insanely easy to gear up a character to competitive levels, just most don't want to bother.
