I would say that the learning curve on being a master at clicking is long but key binding can be mastered quickly.

Personally I prefer clicking. People say that its harder to maneuver but really even in 1v1, key binders and I can go toe to toe when it comes to movement.

Using the actual abilities is much easier as I can have multiple macros set up and have every ability around me. What many people don't take into account is that there is a GCD of time to move to your next ability anyway.

After loads of practice I don't ever mess up my clicks and I don't ever have to hesitate. If you set up your bars correctly then your reaction time will be the same as key binders since it takes less time to move the mouse a few inches on screen then to move your hand a few inches. If you continue to be a clicker, I recommend having your most common abilities in the center of your bars, and everything else organized around it. You can also mix some keybinding in to replace your buffs/items, although you probably already do that.

So really they are both as equally effective when mastered, only it's quicker to master key binding (and it looks better on videos to some people).

If you have to move your hand a few inches to hit your keybinds, you're doing it wrong.

Thanks! Always nice to see someone recognize skill when they see it.

I think this system puts too much faiths in calculated incentives.

Maybe this has been addressed, but me personally, I'll go wherever the queue times are shortest regardless of increased favor gain or not.

Maybe I'm not a true competitor, but I'd rather play against lesser competition than posting on the forums that there needs to be more competition while waiting for queues to pop.

I've seen clickers do well, but never phenomenal. You can tell when someone is using a Razor Naga with a Gaming Keyboard. If it were a healer he'd almost never die in a warfront no matter how many people are on him. If it's a mage it's ability to control 3-4 people while killing one of the three to four one by one. If it's a warrior it's hard to tell with a pocket healer, but by itself you can tell how skilled he or she truly is. The rogue is the easiest to tell if the person uses hotkeys by the way he kites around, and how fast his reaction time is.

The difference between a clicker and a non clicker is reaction time. As a melee you can tell who's real good by watching how well they position themselves in terms of always being at the person's backside while interrupting the key spells of the caster.

So gain so much more by using keybinds, how i taught myself is just unbind w,s then Rebind a and d for strafe (i use f and h because it puts more of the keyboard within reach) then learn how to move with the mouse first.

Then I started my key binds, like others have said your going to die alot in the dumbest places but meh its worth it in the end

Im by no means crazy with my key binds but I find its alot easier to put multiple abilities on one macro by using the key modifiers,

    Example
    cast interrupt spell
    cast [shift] Break out spell
cast [ctrl] some other spell usually not used as much
Does anybody know if you can map a mouse button to be the modifier? because this would really open up things anymore

This way its pretty easy to have all of your abilities good to go (now this game doesn't have an command to show the current spell tool tip, So if you don't have a really good memory this might not work out so well.

Yes you can map the mouse button to be a modifier up to mouse button 6 as far as I know (I only have 6 buttons).
