I don't get it. Alright voice your opinion, but when you get banned expect it. If people came over here with as many annoying posts as everyone posts on other forums, I'd be quite tired of it. Grow up, if people want something new they'll find it themselves.![]()
People need to stop going to third party websites, or even to the Game Websites like Battle.net forums, and posting sh*t about how great Rift is and 'you should all stop playing your current MMo and play Rift instead!"
Not only are you making yourself look a complete wrench-head, but you're making a BAD example of Rift and it's community.
People will come to play Rift in their own time, because it's a fantastic game - it can speak for itself. It doesn't need jumped up 15yr olds going to other websites talking absolute sh*t and giving the game a bad name before it's even been released.
You do know its called MmoChampion and not WoWchampion.
I didn't post there to be a Rift junkie. I even stated that if you read it.
I mainly asked a simple question and people want to rage over it bc I made Rift an example bc it it the next mmo to come out. If Gw2 was coming out instead I would be posting with that. And please don't call me a 15yr old. I didn't do anything and I posted an opinion on a certain game. I didn't bash the game I put out its flaws and what I believe it has gone to.
Bro!!!!
Hello young internet person!
1. Your thread on MMO-Champion got locked but not banned, even if my moderators were very angry that kind of post cannot give you an infraction big enough to be banned instantly. In this case, you didn't even get an infraction, just a lock with a moderator asking you to move your discussion to any of the Rift thread we already have in the Video Games forum.
2. Wrong forum, we have a dedicated "Video Games" forum for that kind of stuff and as I write these lines, we have 6 different Rift threads on the first page of that forum.
3. The only reason why your thread got locked and why MMO-Champion was so evil with you is because your thread was pointless. You didn't really talk about Rift, it was just a giant rant about how much WoW sucks. You even managed to complain about WoW gamers who troll Rift forums and I'm not even sure you saw the irony in that.
It doesn't do any good to the WoW community, and most importantly, it just makes look Rift players like angry kids who spam everywhere for no reasons. We have the exact same people on WoW, doing the exact same things on Rift forums, and I think we can all agree that they're not representative of our communities.
4. Just because you like bunnies doesn't mean that you have to go on all the kittens forums out there to tell people how much kittens suck compared to bunnies.
Let's just play nice and hug, for the time being, please have a bunny to cheer you up.
Boubouille - the guy who works on MMO-Champion, sometimes.
PS: I realize it's an annoying bump, but I got that thread forwarded a couple of times and figured I should address the situation before people think we're really evil.

Giant wall of text hits Ninefourtfour for 979 damage.
Ninefourtyfour has taken a critical hit.
Ninefourtyfour is knocked unconscious.
Totally owned by Boubouille. :>
You should feel honored.

I am in 100% agreement with you. Ultimately the past couple of years Boub and the moderators of MMO Champion have closed many threads regarding topics that the base of wow players either didn't agree with or comprehend. Over the years I've seen how the site leader and the moderators cater to the simpleton playerbase of World of Warcraft. What we can hope for is a different site that keeps up to date with MMO news (In the true sense, not just bad advertisement of a website with a misleading name) and that wow maintains their mentally inept playerbase. It would be shameful to have this game, with much potential, taken over by 15 year olds who spam general chats and websites with their clever sayings like "You mad bro, dude?".
They handled the original poster with tact, true, but only to placate him. As I've said I have seen many posts closed/deleted that were meaningful. Stifling of such free speech is a hindrance to education, which it seems that a lot of the fanboys from World of Warcraft lack. Unfortunately any website that is run by a small group of individuals is done so at the intellectual integrity of said people. What we can do is encourage people to find other resources for gaming news. A good place to start would be on the game's official forums. This applies to all games.
If you are bothered by the level of immaturity presented to you by the leaders of MMO Champion then feel free to start your own personal campaign against the website, or you could do something productive like start a website devoted to the ideals of MMO Gaming. I am sure if you asked around there are communities in each game that would love to host such a website. It could even include... World of Warcraft.
Remember this, angry posts are met with angry responses. If you want to be heard in a positive way you should sit and write a piece about your concerns, coherently and as objectively as possible. Present it to the people you are trying to reach out to and record your conversation. If you are met with hostility it doesn't make you look like a fool, it makes them look like the fool(s).

Are you trying to suggest fifteen year olds WON'T be playing Rift? You do realize who the largest demographic that plays MMORPGs is...right?
If you want a world free of "lolumad," you should probably go read a book, instead of lurking on forums where this behavior started.
Maybe I just lucked out but the two servers I have played on so far have been free of the "lawl bromadulolbrahdude" discussions. Thankfully I have only met inquisitive, mature people on my adventures. Sure there is a variety of players that play MMOs and I am sorry for grouping all teenagers into one category, they are just as diverse as adults and many adults behave in the "stereotypical" WoW way. However, I implore you to go to a game such as LOTRO and look at the city chat compared to World of Warcraft. It's frightening.
I do want to make myself clear here, I do not hate World of Warcraft, or the majority of the players, I just find the radical player base highly obnoxious and something Rift would hate to attract. Sure people will get excited about this game, it's a really fun game and post on forums for their friends to see so they can play with their friends/guild mates/family members. Just remember to do this respectfully.
As for the hype about Rift, it's just politics. People seem to forget that WoW built itself as an EQ killer. Furthermore people neglect to see how WoW times the release of important content patches around the release of other games... Coincidence? Maybe but I highly doubt it. Of course games would succeed if they polished their content better for release.
You should not of titled it that way. that was a red flag to the moderators. Should of titled the post as "I love WoW and here is why" or something lame like that and then rip into it hahaha.
Wow, that sure was a lot of alots.
