My boyfriend was really psyched about it, and when I first saw it my mental processing went something like this "Ooooh, classic Orc! Yaaaay! Oooooh, mean human too, on the same island! Yaaaay! Oooooh now they meet each other! Yaaay classic human vs orc! Yaaay panda- ermmm... its very fluffy and... he looks odd... erm... now you lost me what is this... why are they comically gaping at each other? Why are they friends? Why is this panda ... what is going on here... why did it go from awesome to just mocking itself?!"

I can't get excited. I just can't... I am sad to say but to me a lot of what Blizzard has been doing the last year has just felt as if they've been mocking their own game. And their players. Their gimmicks has gone from "oh lawl" to "wait... are you making fun of me?".

It suits the players that love it. I have plenty of friends who adore WoW and has done so for a good few years. I am glad they have a game they feel at home in but personally? After seeing the work Trion has done? Blizzard are nubs even after having been in the market for so many years. They aren't developing a game, it feels like, they're developing an outdated gimmick.

Up until that trailer I still held out hope that the game wasn't going completely Kung Fu Panda but I see that I was wrong. It seems their new target audience is "elementary school age".

blizzard has been poking fun at the players, the stereotypes and their own game for a long long time and yea sometimes it comes across as being petty and showing a great deal of disdain for the players( I mean you borean tundra questline)

Blizzard always puts on a great show, but... while that was a great cinematic and all, it... didn't have the feeling that the other three expansion trailers gave.

Burning Crusade - "YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!" still sends chills down my spine when I even just IMAGINE Illidan's voice clip playing through my head.

Wrath of the Lich King - So. Freaking. Epic. Another one that gives instant chills when I remember how the Lich King summons up that giant Frost Wyrm, and it flies over that seemingly endless ocean of Undead soldiers...

Cataclysm - Deathwing was f***ing terrifyingly badass. I don't care how bad Cataclysm was and the fact that I quit it a month or so into it; that cinematic was AWESOME!

Mists of Pandaria - Had a bit of a laugh during that one bit where the Human/Orc look at each other dumbfounded and team up only to get pwned. Otherwise though? I was asking myself this question: "Who the hell are we fighting and why did that Pandaren talk about protecting his homeland when they showed nothing threatening to them beyond the Horde and Alliance guys fighting each other?"

Seriously. Who the heck is the big baddie this time around that's threatening the earth, or at the least, the safety of the Panda reservations? Why did Blizzard feel the need to bring a 2002 April Fool's joke (http://www.wowwiki.com/Pandaren_%28April_Fools%29) to life to the extent that they're making a full-blown frigging expansion revolving around it? What's the point of the Alliance and Horde coming out to Pandaria? Why the hell do the Pandaren join the Alliance/Horde if they seemed to be depicted as intruders/invaders in the cinematic?

...From a former heavy lore nerd's perspective, that trailer lacked substance like none other. And it honestly seemed like Blizzard is very aware that this expansion in its entirety should've been just one huge April Fool's joke since that's where all of this lore originated from. That trailer honestly seemed like nothing but a huge joke meant to bring laughs, showing that they don't want this expansion to be taken seriously.

So... will be interesting to hear how this expansion somehow manages to keep players playing. Because it looks like Blizzard isn't taking much seriously now.

This describes how i felt watching that trailer pretty well, the first half really gave me memories of classic Warcraft: orcs & humans, with the ships and the grizzled looked to both of them, and then it went all comical with that dumbfounded face at the panda while the human handed the orc the spear.

I could not stop laughing, and not in a good way. This trailer was just silly and I understand why so many are leaving WoW in droves.

I actually thought the trailer was pretty well done, it's just a shame it's CGI which I feel is always misleading. WoW is such a dated game graphically they have to make it look good somehow

Well, seeing that you're a lore wh*re like me, then you know that pandas were well established in WoW lore WAY BEFORE Dranai lol! They were in WW3: The Frozen Throne. It was a panda that helped Thrall found and build Orgrimar.
But ppl seem to either not know this or forget this. But as for panda land, sigh..., what can I say??? After beta'ing it, I was disappointed. No more talent trees, gear with ilvl 400+ stats are sold in panda main city, it's pretty at first, I believe, if you look really close, that pandaria is modeled after Nagrand with an Asian twist. But can you blame them? After all, imho, Nagrand is probably the most beautiful area in all of WoW. But yes, the days of WoW epicness are totally GONE FOR GOOD - sad panda face As was once said, the only wow killer will be the blizz devs...

I don't think any of this is true. I think Cata failed because it lacked support. In fact at launch many people really liked Cata. The questing was great, so much better than ianything WoW had done prior. The entire leveling experience now felt actually fun and sometimes even compelling. But once you hit max level it was more of the same, and it was a long time between meaningful content. Pandaland will fail just as hard if Blizzard doesn't step up their post launch content deployment, its as simple as that.

Well, I love real panda and remember kids, a real panda can still tear a human in half or rip your face off with one paw... Those are REAL pandas
