Elder Scroll Online Trailer
It is not coming out for a long time.
I know, but say it anyway. Elder Scrolls Online! Doesn't it sound goodI can't wait, been a fan of Elder Scrolls for years and this will be Epic. PvP in this game will be challenging. Player control no hand outs. Player ran communities and cities fighting each other, going to be so awesome.
Generic and terrible.
At least they got on the three faction train early.

You haven't played any Elder Scrolls have you? Morrowind was Awesome, Oblivion could of been better, Skyrim OMG. Now an MMO based around Elder scroll lore and player ran community. The PvP will be based on open world, FPS style fighting, with each Char having their own completely unique build.
I've played 2-5 (only one I haven't played is Arena). Neat lore, but not exactly a non-generic setting for an MMO. For me, the strengths of Morrowind and Skyrim (Oblivion was ruined for me because of the gates, so fscking annoying) were in their single-player experiences, not in anything especially innovative they did in the realm of combat, lore, setting, etc.
Everything I've seen about this MMO (to date) screams 'generic'. In an era where the only games that succeed are those that put an exciting twist on the formula, I've yet to see that from Bethesda for this game (again, to date). I'm not exactly excited about an MMO with TES combat mechanics, lol.

skyrim was oversimplified with cool quests
this seems oversimplified with cool quests you can do with friends
i see millions playing it for 80 hours and jumping to the next best thing, like every other TES game

Except this one is being developed by Matt Firor, co founder of Mythic and a developer of DAoC. I see similarities to DAoC with the siege warfare, and some bits of others too. I for one am keeping my eye on it and do plan to check it out next year, it is not due out til March but they have already been working on it since 2009 when I first heard Matt was starting work on a new mmo. I for one am interested. I played DAoC for over 6 yrs. and love pvp but dont pvp in rift because it is just bleh gear grind. I miss the making of a template and changing and tweaking it when new items came out. No having to haul 2 full bags worth of gear around, we used the same set for pvp or pve in that game and it was awesome. Time will tell if ESO will be what alot of us DAoC vets have been waiting for.....![]()

Well for me personally I enjoy deciding where my points are distributed the way I would like them. I also like the idea of having a char that's different than other players when it comes to builds. Real time mechanics also makes pvp more fun verses turn base for me. I also believe this game will have more player friendly crafting than most games. I really enjoy wearing a player made piece than one that was just acquired, and I feel this game will hopefully make the attempt to balance that out rather than using player made items a temporary item verses acquired.

Not excited, can't stand starring at a pair of hands on my screen all day. Hated that about elder scrolls it doesn't make the game feel any more real then any other game.
Pretty impressive individuals on this forum. To know such a plethora of information and reality of a game slated to come out in May 2013.
Never base off old games, never know when they come out of the blue and ruin a franchise. Look at Quake 4. That destroyed a nearly 10 year legacy back to a hybrid browser form of Quake 3 remade to never install another game into the Quake series and pick up a new premise.
Just like I am quite sure EqNext is going to kill off what SoE didn't already decimate in Eq2. RIP good game series ruined by devs.
