This is why I only troll the trolls. Most people who troll don't know how to do it. They just say random, nonsensical crap that annoys everyone and moves on. A true trolling requires at least some intelligent input and a little bit of strategy. A good troll won't get caught, but will infuriate everyone in the process =D. But 90% of them out there are just little kids thinking they are funny, much like the same way they thought the humor in "Your Highness" was funny.

Really it's like high school: moving to a new school, finding the class bully and picking on him. No no, not standing up to him. I mean bullying the crap out of him. Even though he spends all day doing the same to others and you'd think he could take a joke... nope. He gets super serious about it, nearly ends up with tears in eyes as he's screaming at you, and never ever forgets about it. :-P

It's one thing to dish it out. It's another to take it. Most folks fail miserably at the latter.

I highlighted that particular part because I myself like to pick on people who antagonize others, I like picking on people that make other people miserable. That's a motivation, I could care less about someone who does it to be funny, he's not causing direct distress to anyone. and you normally can tell them apart from the ones who just wanna stir up drama.

And its so hilarious.... because they really do never forget about it. They never learn from it though.

The comparison to high school also is interesting, maybe because for most people high school is the pinnacle of their social lives and after that it goes down hill from there. For most people who like to antagonize others, post high school is when they find themselves in a larger scale social situation and in their mind are no longer dominant in their world. When faced in a scenario where they are able to get control of a small social situation again: video games, work place, social networking, they get the nostalgic feeling and try to reapply the same methods they used in which they found social success.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward,
Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both,
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant "If I die you are forgiven...."

"If I live, I will kill YOU"
such is the rule of honour.

Trolls these days are pathetic. Usually it's like some kid with a different opinion/idea than another person, then starts arguing with someone until finally they lose the argument they started, yell "LOL U MAD BRO" "wuz trollin u hard lulz"

A good troll requires hardly any effort. A couple responses dropped in to a conversation that are guaranteed to start a controversy is all it takes.

Any real and true troll out there will tell you, trolling is for forums ONLY NOT for guilds. Anyone acting like a real asset in guilds should be booted for being a pain in the gluttious maxximus - that simple. Trolling on forums is ok keeps things interesting and we never get bored from the "shock value" lmao! I find it good entertainment to watch. Besides, I think it's in the Troll bylaws or in the Troll unions that guilds are off limits...

A true troll never admits to being one.

I'll give a person the benefit of the doubt, since everyone says/does something stupid from time to time, but then its off to the /ignore list if the behavior continues or doesn't have a really good reason (which is usually never)

Ditto on being in a small guild of players for many years and many different games, friends whom you know and some being part of your family.

If you can identify them as a troll, they're doing it wrong.

Trolling is a fusion of science and art. "Trolling", on the other hand, is like a monkey banging two beakers together, breaking it, and maiming themselves with the resultant shards.
