I miss slogging out to odd locations and spending days farming up rare pets, it was hellish but when that pet landed it was the best feeling in the world.

No other game has even come close to being to add interesting little nuances like WoW, the pets were something that you could solo, but feel a sense of accomplishment about.

And of course the PvP, after WoW the PvP delivered by every other game I've encountered to date has paled in comparison.

The community was awful, the graphics were acceptable (hey if the games good you don't need to be all that pretty) and the raiding was abysmal. But the few things they got right earned them my sub for years and years.

I do miss a few things, but those were mostly social, like old friends i had and stuff i did with them. Everything else i miss the same way i'd miss a toothache.

    I miss...

The views where the game looks like a cheap western cartoon.

    The Chuck Norris jokes.

The requests for help "wiv hogger plx !!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The "boost me in deadmines" spammage.

The rock paper scissors theorycrafting of the arena diehard.

The initial Horde response to the introduction of Paladins on their side.

The day we unlocked AQ on our server.

Middle of the night special world dragon team alerts.

The destruction of the original lore in so many parts of TBC * weeps in despair * and yes, SSC, You Trashed It For So Many Of Us And Now We Do Not Care Anymore.

Fishing. No game has better fishing than WoW. Simple and serene.

Oh yes ! Saturday lunchtime MC with friends, alts and pay-to-pug ppl. Fun times ! Onyxia for dessert !

Wrath was the shamdizzle! and im not afraid to say it was. was very fun for me. Its funny how much ppl are reluctant to admit how much they liked Wrath. just admit it ppl. it was fun. But yeah, i agree, that Blizzard is gone.

In retrospect Wrath became far too shallow at the end of Wrath.

    Consider thus:

By the time people had started to raid in ICC AND had progressed to the extent that the first 4 to 6 bosses were on consistent farm, the amour and weapons we all had completely out-geared most other raids to the extent they became pointless to run except for gold and the weekly quest. In addition the mini raid Blizzard did that was marginally higher than ICC never really took of because it was too small and too close in time to the Cata expansion.

In addition Ulduar never really took off either because Trial of the Champ raid was launched too soon after Ulduar

Quite often over on the WoW forums some posters make a justified point people are looking at some aspects of the WoW game through rose coloured glasses

And by the time ICC was launched people had fallen into a MMO trap i really hate, that is level a toon to level 10 out the starting area, camp in a capital city never leaving it other than to click for raids, instances, and BGs - the only subtle difference in Wrath V Cata is we did sort of divide ourselfs between Dalaran and Stormwind/Orig - in Cata it was the 2 capital cities only

    ---------------------

For me the glory days of WoW was the later stages of BC and the very early days of Wrath with both Kara and Nax 25 for any number of reasons.

When Wrath was launched that was unique in MMO history, launch day had at least 10 million people worldwide levelling - and yes the servers handled it pretty well even on the first 2 or 3 days

The only thing I miss in WoW is the flying part, there were some awesome scenes.

I miss the 1:1 real world day/night cycle.
I miss the fishing tournies (I understand Rift will have these at some point)
I miss pet collecting (WoW seemed to make a side game out of it)
I miss the over the top armor (I like how it's done in Rift but I still like WoWs as well)
I miss flying (No, I don't want it in Rift but it was fun in WoW. It wouldn't phase me if Rift did do it though)

Those are the things that make me fire a trial account every so often, then everything else in the game knocks the rose tinted glasses of my face.

This for me as well. My hunter in wow was my first & favorite character. I spent weeks searching for rare elite pets & spirit beasts. Heck, I even set my alarm clock for odd hours of the night to check!

I will admit that I loved playing WOW from BC up to Cataclysm. Cataclysm, Ghostcrawler, and the community ruined it though. I will never go back. I have alot of memories playing with my bf when that was (sadly) all we did for quite awhile. I have screenshots of all my characters & all of the rare pets with my hunter, and I still listen to the original music alot. It was a chapter in a book that is now closed.

WoW would have to undergo some major changes before I returned. I think that the disrespect on chat channels really needs to end. Blizzard needs to create and enforce rules for that. Their customer support goes way beyond horrible. And the entire game needs to be rebooted to the challenging ways it once was.

Never missed WoW for a second since I did quit there about 2 years ago.
Rift does most thinks better then WoW(imo), and is imo the best mmo out there.
Will try GW2, but will play that game more as a single player game though

When they gutted hybrid healing with Cataclysm, they put the last nail in the coffin for me. Rogues, warriors, and death knights had better passive healing than my mana-depleted shaman wasting interruptable cast times. ?!?! Cookie cutter builds murdered any thought of discovery or uniqueness.

I hadn't even heard of Rift and was already worn out on WoW - Trion and Rift have been an incredibly pleasant surprise for me, and there's no way in hell I'd go back to WoW.

    Do I miss WoW?

    No.

I hated it so much, when I went back for 4.3, that I cancelled my Annual Pass and bought Diablo 3, instead of staying subbed to the slow-motion-train-wreck that WoW has become, since Arthas died.

Wrong. Different style (here), but way less going on. It's all dismal here, instead of bright. The armor looks horrendous and repeats constantly, except for the top tier (the only good one).

And if you want some trolling, it's "realized".

    Good day.

I agree. Sadly the game took a turn for the worse when Tigole was put on the 'other' project. Had someone told me I'd miss Kaplan a few years ago I would have laughed, but after Ghostcrawler I see just good we had it.
