Default Star Wars - The Exploit Republic

Hey you sir. Don't miss the maiden voyage of the SS Star Wars.

Its a once in a life time opportunity!

I have never seen anything as funny as Star Wars in all my time of playing MMO's.

    Invincibility - simple type /dance

Mass bannings - Simply wander into an area

Unschedulded down time - 8 hours

This is the real game destroyer

Star Wars The Old Republic - MMO
Massive commendation exploit - Infinite credits

I keep thinking I've somehow accidentally logged into the SW forum when I see all these threads.

I thought these were the Trion forums?

Rift had at least one infinite-money bug early on, so what?
You can play WoW in any MMO. You don't have to play WoW in RIFT. Oh, and no, RIFT is not a WoW clone. Not having fun any more? Learn to play, noob! I don't speak for Riftui, but I moderate stuff there. Got ideas for improving the RIFT community? Feel free to PM me. Just came back? Welcome back! Here's what's changed. (NOTE NEW URL)

I think SWTOR kind of beat Horizons to worst MMO of all times. Why, why does one of the greatest epic sagas of human history has to fall in hands of ignorant idiots?

First SWG was destroyed by SOE, then this.

I wish Trion had the funds or desire to get the franchise. We could finally have a good SW game then.

I'm not a big fan of Trion due to their stance towards beyond broken Rift PvP, but the work they do on all other parts of their game deserves all respect we can show.

Too bad, I wasn't going to leave Rift but I planned to be part of SWTOR. Seems like creating good commercial videos isn't enough to create a good, or at least decent MMO.

All the SW:ToR hate on this forum is absolutely hilarious and it's painfully obvious who has genuine concerns and who hates the game simply because EA's name is on it or because it's set in a George Lucas universe.

Here's the truth: SW:ToR is actually an MMO that is quite good and is very enjoyable. Further, it is doing quite well and looks to have a strong future ahead of it so long as Bioware can make good on their promises.

You people need to realize that there can be more than one quality MMO on the market. Rift is a very good MMO. Even though I do play ToR, I still play Rift and do not see myself leaving Rift anytime in the foreseeable future. There are aspects of both Rift and ToR that shine and both have laid a solid foundation for many great experiences to come.

Here's a perfect example that portrays my meaning:

Rift had at least one infinite-money bug early on, so what?

Of course they patched it. Bioware will do the same yet you fail to consider that SW:ToR just came out on December 20, 2011 and it's now a meager 5 days into 2012. Further, if you had read any of Bioware's blog posts or community updates, you would know that they have committed to releasing a patch a week - a WEEK - where most patches will be focused on bug fixes, stopping exploits and stability resolutions.

Stop blindly bashing ToR as it openly betrays your insecurities and hidden biases. If you don't like ToR, then either don't post in threads pertaining to it or make constructive, well thought-out arguments as to why you don't care for it and be on your way.

Not true, you can go anywhere you can get to and even still loot the boxes in Ilum if you can make it...however if you game the system so that you're systematically looting them in exceptionally high numbers you will receive a *temporary* ban after being warned.

Unschedulded down time - 8 hours

**** happens? Anyone remember when unscheduled maintenance would take most of the day and leave a game unplayable that evening?

Oh now we got a legit one. Reporting this now, I'll watch to see how long it takes to fix.

You know, I would think that Rift players wouldn't be as bad as WoW players about insulting other MMOs and taking hate to a ridiculous level.

    Looks like I was wrong.

You know whats funny. When somebody invests in a bad decision.

Lets think of an example. Say a terrible MMO that has EA on board. Now everybody warns people this is going to be bad but people still go out and buy it.

The rest of us sit back maybe point and watch the game burn. It's funny. There's no hate involved. The only people who don't find it funny are the ones who invested in the game.

When GW2 comes out. You wont see this level of 'hate' because we all know GW2 is backed by a company that cares about the community and the product they create. Just like Trion cares about rift.

Dunno about ArenaNet, but ncsoft are probably one of the most spectacularly and willfully stupid companies I've dealt with in the MMO arena. If they had handed Paragon the money and resources to run CoH, and let Paragon run it, it would be a much more successful game and would suck a lot less. As is, it's a very nice game hampered by a surreally user-hostile gaming company. I have never seen a company so utterly opposed to accepting peoples' money, planning ahead in any way whatsoever... It really is amazing.

Umm, not that I care, but that does not sound like a ringing endorsement of how they're dealing with things post launch. A patch a week sounds, um, weak to say the least. Maybe I'm spoiled by Trion's quick actions in the first months of the game, but I seem to remember better patch frequency in just about every one of the many MMO's I've played.
