Thus, mounting to go anywhere you're usually bound to dismounted on the way. Especially if you're relevelling a profession and want to get some ore or something like that. This is stupid.
It was worse before, trust me.

Sure they might be boring, but suck it up and move to another q-area

In Rift anything rank 5 or below you're cannon fodder to get 2 shot repeatedly.
Well it's not the valor that is the problem. It's the op'nes of pvp gear compeared to PvE gear.
And you are a mage.. You will get one-shot unless you are necro/domi/lock(those are imortal)

In Rift someone in rank 8 gear could be some idiot warrior spamming 2 macros while backpeddling and cliccking his trinket (sorry, break free). Compared to WoW, which if you watch something like reckful 3 or the most recent battle.net invitationals..being the best at pvp in that game truly does take skill. Rift is a JOKE in comparson, there's NO reason to pvp for competition because its a button mash fest. (macro mash fest )
I agree. But some of the "skill" is making the macros. Most people are copying the build right from the internet. You have to be good to make a good macro.

    1. People who cry about getting aggro from mobs 20 levels lower than they are.

    2. People who cry about getting dismounted by said mobs. (The turtle is skittish, could that be a clue, Sherlock?)

    3. Not getting aggro from mobs 20 levels lower than I am when I ride past them.

    1. Lack of "exploration" non raid/dungeon content. Boring crafting, lack of cool fun recipes, crafts that either make money or originality in items.

    2. Ugly, uninspired recycled gear models.

    3. PVP imbalances, messed up diminishing returns and immunity that end up favoring melee over ranged and casters.

    1. Waiting 10 minutes in a Warfront queue only to join a few seconds before the end of the match.

    That is all.

    • Poor Immersion. Number one thing. After five months I still don't feel any attachment to my characters, I don't care about Asha, the Faceless Man, the Guardians or Regulos. The quests were all too generic and failed to draw me in. Even the world events just feel like loot chases and don't really give the sense of impending doom.

Meridian (the best of the cities) is boring and small. Nothing feels epic about it and it almost at times feels much smaller like an outpost. One thing about EQ2, FFXI and WoW cities like Stormwind, they FELT like cities with alleys, moats, and interesting things in them. If I hear that ugly girl say one more time "Kira, would you like to see my experiment on dead bodies?..." /snore.

On the other hand, I did enjoy the Saga quests. I like long chaining quests such as that but there aren't enough of them.
    • Armor/gear styles, poor itemization. The looks of almost all of these armors for any class are horrible. This art is just bad. Seriously bad. Shoes are the worst. There is no reason other than perhaps they didn't have enough time to get styles put in that you would have repeating armor styles to this extent across every single class. It's inexcusable and lazy. The best armor overall I think are for clerics which are okay. Every other class fails miserably. We already know how bad class stats on gear is.
    .

Very much agree to those 2 points.

Also one thing I dont like very much is, that when the game was first advertised it and when it started, we could do anything with Souls, mix this with that and see what we like. Dual wielding Warriors? Sure, jsut mix some Paragon and you have it. And now we have rogues crying for long time allready about warriors wanting daggers (I personally use axes), so in 1.4 craft recipes ofcourse you didnt add a 1 Hander usable by warriors. Thats really uncool and I hate you very much because of that

Second thing is that PvE and PvP shards have shared warfronts.
I guess that its because otherwise PvE shards with less players interested in PvP would jsut skip it and queue's would be longer but.... I would pay the price and wait a bit longer for a warfront to meet lkeminded people on other side (not as someone above said, people who sit in basement and do nothing that grind favor/prestige).

Other than that its fine. Rift is a young game and tho its hard to make something new, so different from other MMOs, Trion suceeded. Ofcourse there are features similar to other MMos. We have 2011 not 1998 (like somebody said :P ) so its hard to come up with new ideas that havent been used before (and even if you allready have one, it doesnt have to be that good).

So after 6 months we have 5 raid instances open wolrd raids (rift raids), expert rifts, loads of dungeons, warfront system etc. There are still issues with balancing and they wll stay there forever. First we had pyro mages, then rogues, now warriors ( tbh I find clerics particularly hard to kill :P ).

Anyway, enough of this walloftextrantormaybenotreallyrantbutcomment thingy.

    See you in Telara

    3. PvE is boring hampster treadmill and only reason to log on is for raids. Even then, I am having a hard time justify doing that as it is.

    /bored.
I was a hardcore raider in previous games, so I might be burned at the stake for this but anyway...so far I like the pve in Rift. The most important thing to me is atmosphere / level (or dungeon) design and so far Rift hasn't really disappointed me here. Now the diehards will cry foul, but if raiding could be more accessible to the general public, I think that will be a good thing for the game. That feels weird saying because I used to be in guilds that raided for ridiculous amounts of time.

    1) Ex WoW players. In one breath dissing WoW, and in the next asking for Rift to be made more like it.
    2) People complaining about empty shards. Word -> Transfer.
    3) Constant PvP nerfs due to ‘omg someone killed me in Warfronts’ crying. If you want all classes to be equal in PvP you should be duelling, not running in Warfronts.
    4) I’m quitting threads. Whatever, just go quietly.
    5) Complaints about being dismounted. It’s not nearly as bad as it was originally. And why shouldn’t there be some chance you’ll be dismounted? You can still get loot from mobs 20 levels below you.

    1. The silly overkill range on /say and /yell in let's say... a major city. (Should be much much lower).

    2. Poor Combat Text, although it's been improved slightly to always show on your screen even if your camera angle is fubar. Merging alot of attacks.. i.e AOE ability into one number instead of filling my how screen with 100-300 damage attacks.

    3. UI costumization, should be able to move incoming/outgoing stuff. Right now favor/healing/rep goes under my own unitframe
"The universe is a machine where you have been placed, and like a machine the outcome can be known. Every battle has already been won or lost. All that is left is for you to choose your side."

Before I add my 2 cents, I'd like to join in admonishing the very, very bad players whining about "the grind." I leveled to 50 in less than a month, and less than a month later I was raid ready. Don't blame your inability to find good guildmates/learn your character well enough to be useful on the game: Rift is barely grindy...

    EXCEPT IN PvP

Here are my absolute top 3, which I have to say infuriate me at least once a day...

1.) INVISIBLE WALLS BETWEEN PLAYABLE ZONES: absolutely no excuse for that, kills immersion and penalizes the player for exploring. Bad form.

2.) Adding R7 and R8 before there were many R6's was a terrible idea. Ok, I get it double XP and prestige, that's great and all, but now look what is happening: fresh 50's get stuck in a system where there are already dozens of R8 players. PvP is NO fun below r4 prestige, and it's only getting worse considering there is no meaningful world PvP.

3.) Aggro range of the NPC's and their ability to dismount players 20 levels above them is absolutely ridiculous. THAT is where a lot of your grind-whining comes from: who wants to go back for a quick achievement when you have to spend 45 minutes wading through too-rapidly respawning mobs?

I understand the game is still early in its life, but now's the time, in my eyes, to really show me what Rift is going to be all about. Is it going to be about Defiant vs Guardian, or Telara vs the Planes? Are we going to get to defend ourselves from political enemies primarily? Do we need to find a way to work WITH the Defiant to defeat Regulos' minions? I get the whole faction vs faction game mechanic, but Rift has already separated itself in a lot of ways: are you guys going to take the next step and do something REALLY revolutionary? How about world bosses that can ONLY be defeated by working together with the other faction? How about shared faction rewards? Or, if you go the alternate route, PvP zones that can be completely controlled: strongholds, cities that can be taken over, resource generating buildings where members of the controlling faction get FREE stuff (like crafting mats or consumable items 1x day).

Here's hoping the next 6 months are as fun as the first. Keep up the great work, guys, I anxiously await the next patch and the content you have in store for us!

    Only the righteous shall prevail...

    1. 1.4 recipie for the cleric tanks STILL not fixed
    2. 7 day raid lockouts(should be 24 hour lockouts) makes it difficult to play with all your guild mates in the differing play times
    3. only 1 type of crafting lure(we need major/raid crafting lures for larger groups)

That pvp is only stupid button smashing without timing and strategy (Well, lets say in 8/10 cases)
