Honestly I think it's a good idea for them to have RMAH because since items in D2 are not BOP there is an obscene amount of shady item sites, in-game spam, etc. Not to mention sites like D2JSP and all the scammers and whatnot. If RMAH can help prevent the things that destroyed Diablo II I'm all for it.

As far as the game though I'm having doubts that it will live up to D2 but theres no way to know until I play it.
    My specs:
    R40 Mage / R22 Rogue / R11 Cleric / R30 Warrior

Problem is, as Starcraft 2 has shown, is that the "old" Blizzard that made Diablo 2 and Starcraft 1 the quality games that they were, is long dead.

Now, you have new Blizzard, who releases terribad and lame games such as new WoW expansions, Starcraft 2, and soon Diablo 3.

You will be so disappointed when you first play it, you'll go back to whining about mmos in no time.
Omg please stop playing games, i can't believe your post.

blizzard quality is long dead? WAIT WHAT?
Starcraft 2 is a lame game? Are you human?

You don't even have to think about buying a game from blizzard, because blizzard is the only company that puts 100% quality in their games. Wethever YOU like a game or not has nothing to do with the quality of a game.

You're just blizzard bashing, i've seen a ton of that, but this is pathetic. starcraft 2 a lame game lol. I don't know but what other RTS with THAT QUALITY have you seen in the last 5 years? Oh right, there is none

Maybe if you weren't so brainwashed, you'd actually see other RTS games.

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of war and Dawn of War II are both exceedingly better than Star Craft copy/paste. Those were made by Relic, btw.

People need to post why with their opinions, tbh.

I like Starcraft 2, and I liked Dawn of War. I didn't like Starcraft with or withour Brood War, and I don't like Dawn of War 2. Why?

It mostly comes down to pacing. The two games that i liked from this list feature an ability to wage protracted skirmish warfare, requiring better long term planning and the ability to think fast while working towards that goal. The other two games on this list, by comparison, felt sloggier, like it was better to simply mass up and pound the other guys face in. Or get yours pounded in, as the case may be. More mechanics oriented, and less tactics/strategy.

    That's my two cents, anyway.

Back on topic: omg inferno mode lewtz with different art WOOHOO!

I will not give ActiVision one more penny. I was looking forward to Diablo 3 back about 8 years ago. A little way too freakin late especially with CraptiVision at the helm.

I think D3 will be a hoot, I am looking forward to it.
Can you show us on the doll where the bad man from Blizzard touched you?

I live my life with bold enthusiasm tempered by the desire to know that when I die it won't be reported in News of the Weird or the Darwin Awards.

I find it interesting how this thread has people saying that current games such as,

World of Warcraft - By far the most popular and praised MMO game
Starcraft 2 - Mirror in the competitive strategy game genre

Do not live up to the quality of previous games, despite the fact that they have recieved far higher popularity and praise than the previous installments. Blizzard always has and still does make fantastic games, I don't see why people have to hold on to the old games as if they were some messiah titles, I recall Diablo 2 getting average reviews in the region of "70%" which by magazine standards was at the edge of what you might consider "decent", I loved the game but it was hardly considered some amazing game, when it was new.

As for the OP - MMO's are about playing with other people, Diablo 3 is a multiplayer game designed to be played with a small group of friends, it isn't an MMO that doesnt rely on many people, it is simply not an MMO at all. Don't get your hopes too high about Diablo 3 being some magical game - I'm sure it will be great but it is aimed at a casual gameplay style much like the original Diablo games, it is not some solo play MMO.

I dont know who's post you're referring to, but I didn't like SC2 because I didn't like SC. I'm not clinging to nostalgia when I say starcraft is a terrible strategy game.
