I use Skype when playing RIFT all the time - besides it sometimes being a memory hog it hasn't caused me any issues.Originally Posted by P123

How much ram is good to u se would you say?

My game can use upwards of over an entire gig of ram. That is just the game, not counting background apps, browser, skype, yadda yadda

Yeah use skype most of the time when playing Rift, works fine.

i was looking to add people tto my skype messenger.
I'm a bit of a skype-o-holic. It's usually always online, be it via phone or internet >.< And I most certainly use it whilst playing Rift, even though it eats up precious RAM (Always been short on RAM for Rift as it is, stupid old computer with it's 32-bit system.. >.<) and I almost don't have any problems.

I'll run D3, Rift, mozilla, opera, google browser, winamp, skype, ACT, excel, 2x vent apps, mumbles.
And I get no lag whatsoever play d3 or rift, and it takes a split second to switch between the 2.
Where's the Auction House to buy more DPS for my cleric?
I run Skype through my iPad and play Rift on my desktop and have great success without my ram disappearing.

If you say "plz" instead of "please" because it's easier to type, then I will say "no" instead of "yes" for the same reason.
What settings do you run Rift at. I'm getting a FPS hit which settings can I lower to reduce the FPS I'm getting from 19 to 28ish FPS
Turned down a few unneeded settings from ultra that I could care less about. Always 30+ fps.
The game is GPU heavy. When I upgraded that not my core, it made a huge difference.
