Default New Idea For Rift Promotion: Instant Level 50 for 7 days

Rift is a very interesting game.

Problem is, like WoW, the Fun stuff is all at max level.

RvR in Port Scion, or 3 faction RvR in Conquest, Raids, Max level zone events,, full Skill Points,,,

    the list goes on.

Playing as a max level is much more fun than playing as a low level.

If I want to get my friends into Rift, they need to be able to experience max level fun on their own account and playtime.

I suggest doing at least something like the Scroll of Resurrection from WoW, or even making it temporary thing up to a full week, would sure get more people excited about this game, Rift.

    win/win

If people want everything handed to them without any effort whatsoever, give it to them.

    Well, at least you're honest...

It wasnt always that way. WoW built its empire off its 1-60 game. By the time people got to 60 they were hooked.

If they seriously want to only experience end-game it's not too hard to level up to 50 within a few weeks. There are plenty of ways to get experience quickly nowadays. Personally, I like the leveling content and slowly/steadily opening things up as I level. Then at 50 tons of new things open up and it's hard not to be all at the amount of different things to do, to where imo it's a bit overwhelming if you don't have proper guidance.

No. It would be overwhelming to somebody that's entirely new, plus it would cause extreme frustration to those of us who have played and know the game. That, and it promotes laziness.

On the good natured assumption this is not a troll post I don't think this is viable, as it would get abused.

People would create numerous accounts and simply rotate the new level 50s, plus of course crafted gear in Rift is quite good enabling high level raiding as it is not by and large soul bound.

In addition we all know now on the PvP side the new Conquest enables someone to swiftly acquire at least starter level amour and weapons.

So a new account opened for the cost of perhaps 1 months sub enables an endless supply of decently equipped level 50s with all the in game problems that would cause.

Sorry, but this game is not currently pay real life money to win (at least officially) and if it becomes so via a back door, well best to be up front and say GW2 calls -

actually thats not true. Into WoTLK, most new accounts never made it past level 10.

which is the reason Cataclysm was designed to revamp the leveling areas to be more interesting for low levels. But that idea didnt work, cause most people get bored from the traditional leveling experience.
so they did the Scroll of Resurrection promotion, which required the user to have a account already (aka those people that never made it past level 10 before quitting)

A free level 50 for 7 days. Now kids, give me that and I can really show you what it means to exploit.

Idle curiosity, as I'm one of the apparent pleebs playing from level 1 onward. All the time I'm spending leveling through content is a waste cause the only real "fun" is level 50 and beyond?

Or was this a matter of opinion thing accidentally presented as a statement of fact?

Nope, you're not *really* having fun :P

Anyways, terrible idea. There is nothing more overwhelming than being put into a new game and having everything given to you at once. I played WoW and got a free rogue, and you know what happened? I didn't even touch the rogue because I had no attachment to it. I had no idea what skills it used or how to best play it or anything. People have a hard enough time switching specs and roles; yet you want to give them the entirety of the soul tree to play with at once? No, that's just a disaster waiting to happen.
Regardless of what happens, people will always be unhappy. Be thankful for what you have and always be constructive.

I really enjoy questing and leveling. I have a level 50 that hasn't achieved much of anything "important" at her level because I got to 50 and wanted to do it all again.

Understanding that there is a great deal to accomplish at max level, I had difficulty getting back into the swing of things with my 50 after being gone a while. It was more than 7 days before I worked out rotations, and spells again. I would have been a HUGE detriment to any group I joined--even after playing for 8 months from launch.

While it's fun to do the higher level things, there is something to be said for learning your character from the beginning. I'm a proponent of working up to it. Purchased accounts are blatantly obvious and these instant 50s would be as well. It would not be fun to not know what the heck you were doing. You would play a day or so and quit out of sheer frustration of being kicked time and again because your button mashing wasn't effective.

Sorry, but there is definitely something to be said for leveling up to the end game.

    * Cienn 50 Mathosian Pyro Mage-Keenblade * Landuu 45 Kelari Pyro Mage-Greenscale * Xee 37 High Elf Healing Cleric, Warfronts-Homeless *

If you say "plz" instead of "please" because it's easier to type, then I will say "no" instead of "yes" for the same reason.
