Default Pllease give Rift marriage some teeth...

Yes, this is completely unnecessary but it will give one RP feature of Rift some functionality as well as levity.

    1. Allow soul bound items to be exchanged with your marriage partner (given the item is appropriate for their class).

    2. Shared marriage bank account.

    3. Some kind of healing/damage buff when married couples are engaged in battle together.

    4. Mounts made for two, for couples only.

    5. Soul recall to your spouse's location.

    6. Divorce needs to be fun: Best suggestions I've read:

    a) A divorce arena for feuding couples.

    b) for those that divorce you without notice, "if you divorce someone behind their back, you should automatically get a little lawyer guy attached to you that follows you everywhere and keeps asking you for money until you get the signature of your ex-spouse" (suggested by Cienn).

    More suggestions please...

The one thing I'd like for marriage perk is the ability to summon your spouse. A mount for two doesn't seem too bad either.

Although I obviously have ideas about the divorce part, I have no desire to be married in game, so I have no suggestions. (Summoning seems like a really nice perk, though!)

If you say "plz" instead of "please" because it's easier to type, then I will say "no" instead of "yes" for the same reason.

A summon/recall to spouse would be cool.

I'd settle for matching surnames too, but then I always liked having surnames and miss them here. I don't want a bunch of silly prefix/suffix titles, I want a full name!

I'm very fond of the fact that marriages do not, beyond an achievement and such, give you much else - I would hate to see the feature cross into the land of it being a necessity to do (and to the right person) in order to gain ability-perks and suchlike (like being able to summon your spouse. This is already an ascend-a-friend feature which would also make it a bit less of a "thing" for the ascend-a-friend program when it's done elsewhere in the game). Essentially, I'd wish for Trion to keep the wedding feature as a fluff-focused element of Rift. The idea of having a lawyer-guy following you around for a while (like the artifact ghost) could be cool and would give the process of divorce a bit more meaning to it rather than "it is done".

This sort of non-stabby content as they call it, in my opinion has a positive effect on fleshing out the world of Telara, give it some charm which reaches out to more people than just the people who reads quest texts/lore books etc. In some places I feel that Telara still lacks more lore and the likes to fill in the voids between one thing and another, to give the lore a second layer where you can truly ponder over something rather than going "We just simply do not know".

Married in-game couples should get a summon companion ability that only works if they both start summoning within two seconds of each other.

If they do it in public they get an achievement.

And a teleport to the vault of heresy.
You can play WoW in any MMO. You don't have to play WoW in RIFT. Oh, and no, RIFT is not a WoW clone. Not having fun any more? Learn to play, noob! I don't speak for Riftui, but I moderate stuff there. Got ideas for improving the RIFT community? Feel free to PM me. Just came back? Welcome back! Here's what's changed. (NOTE NEW URL)

You are kidding yourself if you think marriage in-game was instituted for anything other then tbe short lived publicity of Trions Guinness book of records attempt. Once that was finished it was never mentioned again.

Which is rather foolish really. You see, there will be another February 14th, and another attempt...so why cut yourself short for just one attempt at a record? Keep players interested by adding to the feature.

I'd say yes to 1, 4 and 5. You want to be able to give married couples something special without hurting people that don't want to be married. That said, any kind of bonus xp or being able to trade soulbound items wouldn't be included.

Being able to port to your spouse once every 8 hours, being able to share each other's banks, and being able to ride together on a mount would be nice though.

I would say the proposed benefits to marriage are no different than being in a guild. There are some people that dont like guilds and suffer for it because guilds add perks you cant get solo, but it is your choice as a player to belong or not. Same for Rift-marriages.

So consider rift-marriage as a mini guild. The benefits dont seem so unique or unfair then.

While the ascend a friend programme may allow it, I don't see a big problem having another way to do it especially as it applies to one person.

Afterall, many missed out on ascend a friend perks because it came too late. I brought my wife to the game in beta, I also dragged 15 friends to the game on release, half of which are still here, yet I get no perk because I was to quick to support the game.

A port to/from my hubby would be fantastic. The divorce lawyer would be absurdly hilarious, if only for how often people server transfer and get divorced by force.
Passenger holding mounts honestly didn't work out that well in WoW. If they're adding them here it should be for everyone and not just spouses, but I don't see the value of it either way given how it panned out there.

NTY to everything else. I'm very happy with this game not adding any statistical advantage to marriage. I've seen stats given for marriage in asian MMOs and it doesn't really work out well. Suggestion 1 would be abused SO badly.

    1. did you even think that through at all? NO it is far too open to abuse

    2. too much drama and shouldn't be necessary to marry someone in game to get more bank space

3.NO!!!!! Are you trying to make PVPers cry more? Do you want people crying on the forums because the raid guild requires them to be married for that extra .05 heals / damage

    and the rest ... meh
