This is a preemptive thread on itemization while Trion is working on the expansion.

Whoever is in charge of itemization needs to pay attention to the forums. Or if the person in charge of itemization currently won't interact with the community, he needs to be replaced. I understand the issue of gear inflation, but making it so that T3 PA is going to be a bigger upgrade than whatever the next tier of gear is destroys the point of raiding.

At present, gear upgrades amount to several SP/AP and (likely) a crit loss. Visually, what's gone on is this:

Before "fix" to itemization: Expert Gear --------> GSB/RoS Gear ----------------------> HK Gear
After the "fix": Expert Gear ----> GSB/RoS Gear ----> HK Gear

While this "smooths" gear progression out, it negates the point of doing any sort of progression. If anything, this progression should look like:

Expert Gear ---------> GSB/RoS Gear ---------> HK Gear ---------> ID Gear (that's 9 hyphens between each tier).

Upgrades should be needed to progress. Doing so does not require a drastic leap between tiers of gear that was prevalent prior to the reitemization -- one can easily create a smooth gear progression without trivializing upgrades.

Ya - fair call - upgrades cant be called upgrades when your stats dont go up. If I can tank everything in ID with my HK gear, whats the point of ID gear? I was pretty disappointed to learn that 252 toughness was enough to tank anything in ID. Ive got a couple pieces, it might help a tiny bit - but the upgrades are pretty minor.

Armor upgrades are never minor when you have bosses like Ituziel.

But the OP makes a valid point. I feel the gap between TX relics and TX+1 epics should be about the same magnitude as currently exists between T2 epics and T3 epics.

If the inflation went like this:
TX Epic ----> TX Relic --------> TX+1 Epic ----> TX+1 Relic -------->TX+2 Epic ----> TX+2 Relic
The system would work well. (that's 4 hyphens within a tier, 8 hyphens between tiers)
