    Default All mounts attuned

Is there the possibility of all mounts becoming attuned in the future? That is to say all mounts will match the speed of your fastest mount, just like special mounts currently (Ancient Tartagon, Nebula etc.).

It's just a little irritating when I want an unarmoured horse mount, because it is more aesthetically pleasing than the armoured ones in some cases, but it will only be a 60% speed mount.

Please no.. My guild runs out own community events, there are no level restrictions to participate, and a few of our 50s will often ride a slower mount to stick with the lower levels in our event group.

By community events do you mean things such as races? If so, I can understand your perspective.

I don't suppose there'd be any way to compromise, perhaps by giving you the option to set your speed? (Sounds a bit weird)

Well I think the solution is to have a Wardrobe option for the mounts just as we do.

Nope. We do an event we call Telara's Last Stand, where we will go around pwnfacing zone events (and I think we have started doing boss rifts). There is also our crifting events. Things with quite a bit of travel where it is easy to leave our lower players behind if we don't have some people on slow mounts.

I've often wished my slower mounts could be attuned to my fastest, but then I think of things like the quest in Stonefield that requires some tricky platform maneuvers, including the use of a slow mount. A fast mount will overshoot the target every time. Options for slow/fast are a good way to go, though I'm not sure how that could be implemented.

If you are talking about the lucky pick thing you don't need a mount to make it. Can do it just fine with out one.

could make a "horseshoe" that you buy for 5plat that will do this, so people have the choice.

I also like to ride slower if there are other people in my party that don't ride as fast as I do.

I like the look of the unarmored mounts.

I really wish Defiants could buy a plain horse, and not a mechanical one.

They can, but like I said it's only 60%.

Ok, I didn't notice anyone else doing it, so I'll point it out.... If all mounts were attuned, then there would be no reference mounts to determine how fast "your fastest mount" would be! Everything would be the same, and some other criteria would have to determine all your mount's speed.

And yes, like others have suggested, I keep one of each of my slower mounts on my bar, for when I'm travelling with newer players without a 110%.

Wha? No one mentioned it because it's not accurate. Mounts have a base speed - 60%, 90%, 110%. That doesn't change. The suggestion is to scale up to the highest level. Obviously the game still understands the mount's base speed is 60% and will not get confused - and in some kind of Fringe alternate realty loop, cause the game to both implode and explode at the same time.

I like the idea. I wish all my mounts scaled so I could have a bit more variety. I have never wished for a slower mount, even when I'm with others on a slower mount. I either get there first or double back a few times, or run circles around them. Thanks to PA my mounted movement speed is maxed too.

Make up your mind. Do you want only attuned mounts (which yes, all have a base speed of +60%, if that was your only mount), or mounts with higher base speeds (of 90% or 110%) as well? The OP's argument was only to have the attuned variety, which would effectively stop everyone at the lowest value. There's no such thing as an attuned mount with 110% base speed - what sense would that even make??!

Fangthane makes a good point, if ALL mounts are 60% and scale to your fastest mount then all mounts would always be 60% . . .

The only way really around this is to abstract the riding speed from the mount in some way. One way is to make a mount wardrobe slot so that you can ride any of your existing mounts for the speed effect, and have the one that's visible just as armor does today.

The other way to do that would be have a riding ability that you can activate like a buff to switch between 60% ->90% ->110% which you can learn from your mount merchants for the same cost as the existing mounts.

Any way it's done, I think it should be done so that people can pick any of the mounts in the game to ride over a small subset just because they are faster.
