Now I'm hearing that there's a 30k planarite cap, and people really don't have much to spend their planarite on (other than non-combat squirrels)...

C'mon Trion - Humor me here. You reply to a thread about Bears but this goes unnoticed?

I hate to keep bumping this thread, but look at the mostly positive responses in here. Is there any other thread on the forums right now with this many positive/constructive replies? I mean the guy who said "Why do I not hate this idea?" really nailed it...

Trion, make it happen or I will be forced to genetically engineer my own war squirrel... and I'll be coming for you - you can bank on it.

After 3 weeks, I fear I'm going to have to let you die, dear squirrel mount thread. We had some good times, but if you love something, set if free... If it comes back... kick it.

I thought you were a great idea, so did some others, but I'll have to move on knowing that at least you will live on in my thoughts and my hopes that maybe some day a Trion dev will find this thread, burried amongst a myriad of other long forgotten posts, and bring you back to life... Until then I will pine for the day where I will be able to take the reins of my very own giant war squirrel, and ride it into glorious battle.

I would normally dismiss this as a childish, unnecessary request... but considering Rift's affiliation with squirrels, I think this would be an acceptable exception.

Ride a battle squirrel in to combat?.... HECK YEAH!!!

Make it a reward for completing all the squirrel related achievements or something. Maybe add a few more harder to get ones at the same time.

Awww, c'mon, "childish"? I had to ride around on a two-headed turtle for 20 levels (when I think "trusty war stead" I don't think "I like turtles")... then a monkey thing at level 40... then a wanna be Unicorn at level 50... I think the Squirrel is the least "childish" given these other options. Silly? Perhaps. But, again, you can slap some plate armor on that bad boy, give it some glowing eyes or planar effects like fire/water/death, throw a saddle on it and it would look far more ferocious than you're giving it credit for. =)
