Default Looking for someone to expand on a 'Gear Guide"

So something I keep noticing is that a lot of people don't know the gear progression options available to them.

It's understandable. Players have a lot of chocies and ways to gear up. There's no real "right" way, but some are more efficient then others.

I even saw a post this past week where someone was collecting Greater Marks and Infernal Marks from the daily dungeons. They didn't see anything in Sanctum, where all the other vendors were, to buy with those marks.

I think the community could use a gear overview. Something that puts all the different options post lvl 50 in comparison with each other. A way to give newer players who read the forums (yes, I know they're a minority) a road map to how they want to gear up.

I made a REALLY REALLY rough chart for illustrative purposes only. I did it from memory, so weighting and realative comparrisons of one gear type vs. the others are likely off quite a bit. Please don't overcriticize it.

    GearList.txt

What I am looking for is someone intrepid and "webby" enough to put together a fancy and accurate version of my rough chart. Or piggy-back off it to an even better idea. I know there are BIS lists, etc. for the various classes. I'm not so much talking about specific items as the "bands" of gear and where they come from. Perhaps someone didn't know that they could get fairly decent gear using ISS, and felt compelled to do something they might not have enjoyed (dungeons/PVP) in order to advance.

ALSO, perhaps the developers have something visual like this internally. If so, I hope it's obvious how BIG some of the gear gaps are. Maybe those could be filled in a little *hint hint to any Devs who read this post*

I already know that I am missing a few of the outlying options (like drops from Chronicles, and open world mobs/quest chains). That is part of why I want to see if anyone is willing to help with a project like this. Input is appreciated

And if such a chart already exists, thanks in advance for letting me know.

That's more of what I was looking at Rain. Not class specific BIS, or an item specific list, but more a progression roadmap and level comparrison. I was thinking of it inverted though (more like a tree, with Base 50 at the bottom)

What could we do to flesh that out more?

I'm very new to this game, just a hair over 2 weeks in as of this post and have been looking at this a lot myself. I know part of the confusion I have on gear is just due to the shear amount of ovrwhelming newness to me with the game. I have played several MMO's and based on what is going on with them, a simple ilvl would help with some of these factors. I know ilvl isn't everything as some pieces are just flat out better based on spec and procs even.

I've seen several different ideas on progression to start with endgame, but several of them are contradictory due to what I have come to understand as either a nerfing of the t1/t2 dungeons or jsut flat out over gearing of them.

To get back on point, if someone is tech savvy enough to make a site that is similar to http://www.guildox.com/go/wr.asp maybe, the stats from this page, http://rift.zam.com/wiki/Attributes_%28Rift%29 , could be used to make some type of sortable list with all the gear drops and where they come from and have a basic stat weight value to them. I can obviously do this for my own gear and just take some time and compare pieces.

If anyone sees this and knows how to do this, I would gladly help if I can. Feel free to PM me.

Same, although I've been subscribed to Rift since launch I still haven't played much and all the terminology surrounding endgame PVE is confusing.

Like in WoW, the progression at max level is: get old tier gear with JP from 5mans, use that gear to do heroic 5mans and get both gear and VP, and then you can raid, with VP being used to buy gear that's semi-upgrades to the ones from Heroic 5mans.

In this game, with all the terminology like T1 and T2, experts, marks, master modes, and etc, I'll honestly have no idea what to do when I hit 50, so a sort of progression guide or progression flow chart would be useful.
