I would like to thank Trion for addressing the concerns of the player base. I admit, it was the griefing and ganking possibilities that had me still on the fence over purchasing the game. I'm not very good a PvP, and really hated the thought that it was easy for the opposing faction to faceroll all of the NPCs crucial to my PvE content.
Porticum/flight masters have always been fair game. I can see that. But at least now they'll have a defense team to call upon!
I have previously taken a hard stand against MYSELF doing any PvP. In fact when PvP objectives were needed for an accomplishment in another game, I had my daughter do them for me. She loves PvP....and is pretty good at it. That being said...PvP, especially early PvP in the warfronts looks intriguing. I may not ever be good at it, but I will dip my toe in the pool.
trion screwed only that one with pvp servers.
if somebody is corpse camping - call for backup. ask friends, guildies for help.
or as somebody mentioned - use your skills to run away.
im afraid that if trion is making changes like that, soon pvp servers will change into pve with wf's.

Thank you Trion. A very sensible solution to something that was obviously a problem for a significant number of players on PVE servers. Well done.
Can't you just force these carebear changes on PvE servers and leave PvP server as they are right now?
Turning Quest hubs into safezones with guards hard as invasions (hey! we have to deal with players there too) pretty much halves our PvP options on PVP shards.
Right now, NPC invasions can **** whole quest hub when there aren't enough ppl to protect it - you loose your hub and need to fight it back against NPC, yet there won't be the same deal with players.
Our only option for open pvp will be wiping ppl on rifts/warstones (not counting killing soloers in pve spec on quests, its not fun for a group) and protecting/aiding invasion on their run into other faction HUB.
What if we interefere into invasions fighting someones hub stone? Will NPC guards get harder and defend vs. invasion with ease, ergo we are helping them defending it?
PS.
All you PVE players, you have your pvp switch off. Use it and dont whine. Make all NPCs immune to dmg on PVE servers and there will be no pvp at all, unless someone flags.
well as i read now, it is slowly going into that direction. why taking so much fun from pvp servers?
cmon most of us chose pvp server because we know the risk, we know what may happen.
and we all agree to that. so why break it now? just before the release?
seriously it doesnt make me want to play next beta.
