Planar Breach Support Open World PVP and PVE!
Sourcewell and PVP Rift Objective Based PVP A more resource efficient way of adding Open World Objective based PVP!
Did you actually read any of the responses in the surveys? I actually put a good deal of time into each of my responses, on every page that let me place a response. Please don't tell me you just word clouded that ****, because I probably had every word in both clouds in my text.

Because no one else has said it yet: Ermagerd he just gave away the subscriber count - Rift has 10 million players! Take that, nay-sayers who think the game is dying!
More serious note: That seems about right. Storm Legion especially can be quite challenging at first when leveling through 50+ content, but overall it's not too difficult and can become somewhat easy later on.
Would be a bit nice if the entry bar for Storm Legion (in terms of how tough NPCs are, how much exp you get per quest, etc.) were a bit more graceful/friendly though. Endgame should stay as-is if it's not too difficult.

Any attempt to represent the silent majority removes ones qualification to do so.
Every game has doomsayers. It's best just to ignore them.
On topic, I think this survey goes to show the game isn't quite so done for as the forums sometimes portray it as being. Depending where they plucked their surveyors from, that shows an entirely different demographic that isn't put off by current content.
But just as the forums aren't a decent reflection of Rifts player base, neither is one survey involving 2k (or so) people.

Statistics can't perfectly reflect the entire population, but if you do a proper random sample that's large enough in relation to the population, then typically it's safe to assume that the variables won't change too much.
And also people could take a stab at guessing the total population through their random sample number.

Neither did I.
The responses aren't surprising though. People want the game made tailored to them and they don't think about the effect it'll have on the game as a whole. Shorter rep grinds, I think everyone would appreciate that..but then what would we do when not raiding or doing our 1 - 20min dungeon a day? Conquest..that's the worst designed 'feature' in the entire game. If I spend more then 5mins in it a day, I'm very unhappy with myself.
IA's for rep, dailies for rep, and doing invasions to save up enough IS's for future resist cores..take the bulk of my time online..when not raiding. Without those, I'd probably log off..and have enough time to go find another game to play..when/if that game becomes more entertaining than this, I'd quit Rift...so, Trion occupying my time is probably a good business model. By no means am I saying, that if they make rep grinds shorter I'm quitting..I'd immediately be very grateful, long term..I'd be bored much sooner, bored people do stop playing.
Dungeons being made harder..might be entertaining for a week. After that it'd be just as monotonous as it is now, except if they're harder it'd take a 'better pug' to get through them. I hardly have the patience to pug people now..if it got much more difficult to complete dungeons in a reasonable amount time without waiting to find 4 guild mates to do dungeons with..I'd simply stop doing them.
Raids..I'd absolutely love for them to remain unnerfed for a greater period of time. It wouldn't help my guild any, we're not 9/9..however, the accomplishment of beating events at their hardest state is much greater than getting to crucia who's been neutered and think we've actually 'done something', when we beat her. It just feels cheap now.
As was stated, the survey isn't fully completed yet. People who received it still have some time to respond (I think until the 20th) and then comes the more specific sorting through of subscriber comments and so on.
You just can't please everyone. No matter what, in just about every MMO, some people think it's too hard, other people think it's too easy. The hard core players, once they beat something, want something even harder for them. The casuals want life to be just a bit easier when leveling. There's never going to be a point where absolutely everyone is happy.
They can make a change where people stop complaining for a while, then those people either beat the change, or get tired or doing it, then it's back to "this is nuts, make it harder/easier/back to the way it was". People need to allow time for change.
I think the results were pretty expected but it’s a nice demonstration of the thought process behind these surveys. I'd certainly be interested in seeing more snippets from them without compromising anything of course![]()
I didn't get a survey, but I feel like I invest enough hours and am fairly educated enough to give a beneficial response.
Leveling: It feels fine. Don't make it any harder, don't make it any easier. You have a lot of different options to level from IA's, questing, GH mooching, dungeons, etc. Obviously each different way you go about it has it's own little perks.
Dailies: These to me feel like a never ending struggle to have to do something that I feel like I need to do, but I know I don't have to do, but I end up still doing them; trying to complete them in the shortest amount of time possible because they suck. (See sub-sections below)
-Crafting dailies: self explanatory- boring. Waste so much possible plat on stupid recipes that hardly sell. Only recipes people want are BIS, which require stupidly expensive mats and a lot of luck from RNG mats in your crafting daily reward chest. In my OPINION, only 10% of crafters will only ever turn a profit in this game opposed to just selling their mats instead. Sad, considering amount of possible plat and time wasted to get the stupid recipes to begin with.
-Daily Expert: just what it needs to be!
-Daily Chronicle: If you still need marks or IS, then it works, but it is incredibly boring and just another thing you try to finish as quick as possible
-Dailiy rep quest / onslughts: Ill talk about rep later. Same as above if you need IS. Boring.
-DRR: Who the hell can afford these everyday!? Prepare to become the ultimate mooch ninja if you want to complete these everyday!
-Daily Hunt rift: another rep grind.
Rep: Come on Blizz! no but seriously the rep grind in this game is terrible. I feel like it is something I need to do, but I don't want to ever do it just because of the overwhelming amount of mind-numbing boredom it requires. GH's are the only rep grind I can stand to do because of the rewards(even then still pointless once your geared) and they are actually FUN!
Dungeons: Just Right! but why no Master modes. Btw this only pertains to Experts. When you very first start experts, they are a little difficult because you have bad gear, but once your geared they're easy, which is not bad because every game has really bad players, especially Rift. If you increased the dungeon difficulty it would make it very tedious to pug, since theres people who can barely clear trash. Now what about the Elitist (or people otherwise know as people who actually try)? We need Master modes, come on we want a challenge when were not raiding and It also makes good practice for people who want to start raiding!
Raids: Im still fresh to Raiding this tier, so can't make a sound comment but It seems just right! Organization, dedication, and teamwork seems to be what it takes to raid, which is exactly what you want!
PVP: No comment, don't pvp enough.
In conclusion, this expansion is pretty polished, there is just those dumb little things like rep grinds, pointless crafting, and just that grindy type of feel that makes everyone leave such negative comments. You got to remember there is always going to be those "Apocolyptic peope" who think the game is going F2P or the servers are coming down because they have been grinding rep for 3 days straight and still haven't reached Glorified, whilst they forget about the other great aspects this expansion has brought so far!
okay nothing further, out.![]()
Word clouds are absolutely worthless in this situation, because they have no context.
