Storm Legion midnight launch?

I like to play myself but I don't get it why to take like vacation, I would rather spend it with family then..
Gues i'm not that dedicated.

Different people have different priorities.. This is not a new thing.

I have hardly any holidays left at work so I will be working through SLs release... else i'd probably take a few days off too.

I live on my own (I am 21), I have no contact with my family. I'm in my last year collage and I also work to be able to pay appartment and other monthly stuff, I got my -18y old sister in a foster and I see her weekly. Don't talk me about reponsibilities..

Its 2 day's ago I was on rift (I just logged on this morning just before work for 5 min to say hi to my guildies). I took a break from raiding atm. I took vacation at work to go to vacation to turkey...

A RL friend of me took 2 weeks vacation on his work to play panda at launch and to be among the first ppl .. now he's all bored of it and he now isn't able to take vacation to go with us (our group of rl friends) to new vacation ..

So he took a vacation and did what he enjoyed and spent very little, and you took a vacation and did what you enjoyed and spent a huge amount in comparison . . . Personally, I find vacation traveling more stressful than work anyway so why bother wasting it just to be more stressed out when you get back. I'd much rather just use it to wake up when I want and play some games . . . not be herded around an airport like cattle and pay an arm and a leg to get groped by strangers (isn't that illegal in most places?).

I'd love a Thursday night launch.

I'm sure many others are not too pleased about an early-in-the week release. Especially if there will be lvl 60 Group/raid content available on release ..

I would be shocked if there's no Midnight release. It seems pretty standard anymore, particularly for MMOs and PC games. With as strongly as Trion goes toe to toe with Blizzard, I don't see them not following suit there.

Not sure how you don't understand how some people enjoy different things. I really don't enjoy long vacations away from home, few days is nice but long vacations are not my thing. Taking a day or 2 off of work for release is fun (although I would take day 2 and 3 off instead of 1 and 2), its low stress...relaxing day. Flying can be stressful, but if that is your thing then that is cool.

I would love to see this as well. We have several people that have cleared their schedule for the launch week, so being able to play early is a big plus.

I know people like the game they play but in all my time in MMO's (since EQ start with some UO thrown in) I still am left in complete wonder at how people can suspend their schedules JUST to play a game. It will still be there when you get home or the weekend hits depending on the launch.

Besides, you can pretty much count on some issues and even down time the first day.

What else would you do on your long weekends of vacation time other than your hobby? Would you really question someone who builds model trains to take a day off for a hobby train show in your town? I mean really... that's just playing with dolls. Would you question someone who booked time off to go see a football game? I mean really... that's not even playing a game, that's paying to watch someone else play a game.

Besides, you can pretty much count on some issues and even down time the first day.

Which is why I took day 3 and 4 . . . Also to make it a long weekend since 4 days in a row from work just seems so much better than a normal weekend, but much more than that in a row and I just find myself getting behind at work and coming back to a pile of mess which is more stressful so we're back to "What's the point of the vacation time?" . . .

I too am thinking of taking a couple of days off for SL. I'm a normal everyday person with a family and a job and I take off enough days to do things for the family that sometimes I just want a vacation for me alone. No family, no job, just sleep late, stay in pajamas all day, play video games, and get drunk. Even that is only fun for a couple of days then boredom sets in and I want to go back to work.

As Im not able to work at the moment, Im off every day so when it releases is no big deal to me but I completely understand those that wish to know release time because they took time off of work etc.....Hopefully Trion will tell us soon.

As for the rest of this thread, I agree with "to each thier own". I have had family members think Im crazy for this hobby and tell me to do other things. These same family members hobbies include watching TV/movies from the moment they are off of work and until bed. Working on a super old tractor that will most likely never run. A doll collection. Owning over a 100 cats and spreading all thier free time taking care of them. Watching the weather channel and nothing but that. Etc..........How people spend thier free time is up to them and them only and maybe their spouse. Thankfully for me my spouse's hobby is MMOs, too. As for the rest of the family and world, we dont care. ;)

I have two kids and other hobbies too to fill my time but this one is one of my favorites.

It's so nice to have a wife that plays mmo's alongside ya isn't it No nagging spouse to get off the computer and spend time watching jersey shore or w/e lame reality show is the big hit these days Wife and I have been married for 12 years.. we started playing Asheron's Call together and never looked back from there

I am the wife and yes its very nice to have my hub playing MMOs with me and understanding. He is the one that got me hooked. I now get to play more then him, that isnt fair is it? lol

If you have a family and a job the only time you actually have is if you book time off of work if you want to play for any length of time in a single session. Maybe when you get some big boy responsibilities you'll also enjoy your opportunity to turn the world off for a day or two and just enjoy your games.
