"Gift" Storm Legion to a friend?

I have a friend who is going through a rough time in my guild and I want to purchase storm legion so he can play as he wont be able to afford it right now. I don't see a way to do this under my account anywhere. Is there an option to "gift" storm legion to a friend?

I would love to see this also. If you could purchase it though your account but instead of applying the code automatically give the option to send the code to an email address. This would allow someone else to log in to their own account and apply the code by cut and paste. I have at least one friend I would do this for.

Would sending his a gift of Rift through Steam work? I know I have bought games through the Steam client before for my friends and am just wondering if you couldn't do the same for Rift?

does your friend have steam? you CAN send games through steam. but i'm not sure if you have to have the original version through steam also for that to work.

Maybe contact customer service and see if you can apply a game code to their account.. though, you'd need their account information, which could be tricky.

They did respond to this idea prior in another thread, but it was so long ago I am not sure I could find it.

Anyway it wrapped up to being the credit card associated with the original purchase is a key component to account security (for re-instating stolen accounts etc) and that a "gift"-reciever would not know that information along with billing info etc should something happen to their account.

Reguardless I'd still like to see a way around this (maybe use new credit and billing info to activate the account though it will not be billed).

I took a quick look for storm legion at lunch in steam, didn't find it.... weird

Thanks for the suggestions all. Really odd Trion hasn't figured this out yet haha. I'm sure they have their reasons, but damn any way they can make getting our money easier should be a priority I would think haha.

Isn't your credit card information on your ACCOUNT which is used for monthly subs / purchasing frills? So adding a game code SHOULD be easy, even to trace. Simply buy the code, gift it to a friend THROUGH Trion's website and the friend applies the game code. The only inconvenience of this would be coordinating information to direct it to.

By doing this, it allows for not only the buyer to have a copy of his purchase, the receiver has a copy of who it came from (e-mail addy) and Trion has the paper trail because it was sent through their servers. Win Win Win.

Depending on which cape is their favorite you might consider purchasing it from a retailer and having it shipped to them, if they are having trouble too you could also throw in a card or two. The only downside to this method would be requiring their address especially if you're trying to make it a surprise.
