A few specific questions from a returning player...

I read the patch notes for 1.9, 1.8, and 1.7 but I was unable to find specific answers to these questions:

1) Where do I spend Infernal Marks of Ascension?

2) Are there more fishing/survival quests outside the introductory quests at Kelari Refuge? I complete the intro quests, yet I'm not directed to go elsewhere in my journey to level up fishing/survival.

3) Is there an authoritative source on the web with up to date guides on class builds, rotations, and macros? The Class subforum here is lacking and Rift Junkies is of no use at all.

4) What are the exact raiding tiers. I raided up to Hammerknell before I left.
My guess is:

Tier 1: GSB, ROS, GP, DH (Marks of Ascension drops)
Tier 2: HK, ROTP (Greater Marks of Ascension drops)
Tier 3: ID, PF (Infernal Marks of Ascension drops)

Is that correct?

Welcome back.

I probably can't help you that much because I've never set foot in Meridian, but there must be some vendors somewhere that sell items you can spend marks on. Greater Marks vendors are in Reclaimer's Hold in Moonshade, and Infernal Marks are the two forges outside of Ember Watch. You're correct about raids.

What's your class? I've found good guides here for rogues and mages.

For fishing, you'll have to ask, there were only two zones with quests for guardians I believe (ok.. maybe 3?).

1) not sure since I havent been raiding for quite a while sorry.

2) Ive been leveling up my fishing recently and have found there are a few quests that seem to unlock once your fishing gets high enough. So far Ive found 2 outside the starting ones.

There are also daily 'crafting' quests that use fishing and survival. If your leveling both it can be quite useful since youll ususally get a few points from crafting the quest meals.

3) Id actually like to find something up to date too. Its been a while since I polished up my characters and their builds.

4) I believe your raid teir list is correct.

1. On Ember Isle at Ember Watch. They are forges - the place is neutral.
2. As far as I know, no. As you level up you'll be able to trade up your fishing rod, but I don't remember if that goes via quest or via craft.

2: There's a fishing/survival master on every map, I don't believe they offer quests, but you can still turn in the unique fish for rewards. Your fishing pole is upgraded by crafting, you take your current pole + cloth of some sort, and craft a new one.

3: Hard to know what you'd be wanting, rift.zam.com has a build utility, and a top builds list for each class, but can't promise they're actually the best builds. If that doesn't work for you, try googling "Rift (yourclasshere) builds, and it should have a good list of sites that deal with rift builds, sometimes the site will be dedicated to the one class.

1) Ember island, the middle porticulum on the zone. There are forges on the back of the outpost that sells ID gear for ID marks

2) Yeah there are daily crafting quests for fishing and survival, check the NPC that gives you the other daily crafting quests

3) Nope, class forums are what you are lookinf for however! What class do you play?

2. As far as I am aware there aren't really any more quests after that except the daily crafting ones. But if you go to your trainer and train in the latest and hover over the fish you see where you're supposed to be fishing.

3. I usually go to Bluedots.org. They got some nifty guides now and again. Like all guides I take it with some salt and customise it how it pleases me, but it does nicely explain a lot of things. Don't know if all the guides are updated for 1.9, but its a good place to go nevertheless.
