    I was speaking to GM_ZAI ingame last night and he confirmed to me in public chat that guardians will be allowed to enter Meridian and vice versa. This effect only happens to pve shards. This is a very welcoming addition to rift I think as finding raids and guild's, 5 mans and any pve content at least twice as lively when compared to current. Thanks for this Trion, great work and keep it up.

    Now to create race changes

    Then you're clearly a minority in this game.
    It's obvious that when people play this game, they want PvE or instanced PvP.

    Besides, when a game has instanced PvP, open world PvP never works, EVER. There hasn't be ONE game that has good open PvP when the game has instanced. It just ends up being a bunch of ganking, which isn't real PvP is just players being annoying.

    Play a game that is focused on open world PvP, there are plenty of them, some of them free.

    He's either mistaken or mentioned a change that will happen down the road, cause as it stands, on the PTR, you still very much get attacked or are flagged for PvP.

    Both factions still have strong differences in their veiws on many things but since both are about to find themselves seriously outmatched by far more advanced and larger forces they or at least some of the ascended who act as the front line in the war against the planes have started to put aside differences of politics and ideologies for the sake of stopping Crucia's armies and Regulos's forces.

    Note that if your flagged for PvP your cut of from cross faction grouping so world PvP is still possible but only when players actually flag themselves, much the same as it is now.

    Um, as far as I've seen, this isn't true.

    Which you can only do if they are flagged. And guess what, you can still kill them if they're dumb enough to flag.

    Um, you still do that in this system.

    You have to be flagged to PvP.

    The only thing that could mess things up is cross-faction guilding, but even then, Trion could make it so kills against your own guild (even with a cooldown after leaving a guild) don't count for favor etc.

    Otherwise, its basically the same system. Flag yourself for PvP and it removes all cross-faction features.... just like how it currently works, anyway.

    Seastone is pretty active from what I've heard.

    And that's an extremist position for this game.

    PvE happens on PVP servers.

    PvP happens on PvE servers. I don't think a massive redesign will happen when it comes to this - it would spark a player revolt.

    Cross faction play though? I'd say more than half the playerbase at least passively supports such a move, imo.

    I heard guilds may have players from both sides... How would the guild banks work if unable to get into other cities (and visit auction house)

    What about pvp rifts... I dont see how they would work at all

    Guild Banks would be cross faction functions, problem solved.
    Same with AH. It's not really an issue.

    PvP rifts are also simple - flag for PvP. Trion could disallow you from killing (or at least getting credit for killing) guildies. There are probably other tweaks.


    Remember, cross faction does NOT = friends. (not in lore or in-game NPC factions)

    I say, lets get rid of the PvP shard concept,

    and make it into a queueable world for PvP. (Think a large grand scale Conquest)

    people on PvE shards can just queue into it without changing shards.

    It could also have the 3 faction concept. But have objectives on all parts of the world, along with PvPvE elements.

    All Rifts add some sort of PvP advantage to your faction.

    each of the three factions get a Major City.

    Add territory control points, so factions can control the land similar to Planetside 2.


    this would be much more interesting idea than PvP shards in their current form. Plus it could get more population.

    and with territory control, you can see your pvp progression effect the world.

    This mode unlike Conquest, wont need a timer or anything stupid like that. Simply 100% fun. No grind needed.

    Let everybody enter. if you below max level, you get instant leveled to max level when you enter with PvP stats.

    also place a few destroyable buildings across all zones on the map to be captured/destroyed/rebuild/reinforced.
    Lets Go Rift. Hope Archeage can do something next. Lets Save Rift
