Is there a DATE on this yet? Will 1.10 come at the conclusion of 1.9 (Summerfest)?

Or will there be some time (meaning a week or more) from when summerfest ends, which is listed as 7/25 to when 1.10 drops?

I'm afraid I know the answer : I can't. Being at a 20 Water Resist disadvantage right off the bat is not trivial.

Not all World Event items are fluff and certainly not all have been surpassed.

This. And for vets trying to gear up alts, it's not too cool either. I'm still not too pleased over this whole thing about wasting the currencies we've saved for a while for cases like this

They said there would be 'other exciting ways to collect them' a few months ago.....still waiting on them to tell us what that is and probably will be untill Storm Legion is released (if were lucky and they just not shelved the idea allready).

I think the "exciting ways to collect them" was begun with the recycling of a couple of the items in the last world event and some rare drops in IAs, zone events, etc.

You can still get the +20 Water Resist. there are runes for that
Yes the Barnacle sigil got removed, but the runes came in place for that. They rather came with the resist runes, instead of adding more Vigils/Machines to the game. prob. since runes are used for all gear anyway
so no: you are not at a disadvantage

Wait...you're removing the burning shards we can buy with planarite???
Well I guess my level 19 raptor egg is never going to be complete then...
The toon that is holding it will be unable to earn enough planarite due to level of the toon, or get enough through transferred vouchers from other toons, to complete the beastie.
Unless you're giving us a few month's warning, of course.

Dont worry!! If you have a lvl 50 toon you can send your lower toon Inscribed Source Stones that they can take to fortunes shore and sell for a box of planerite worth 500 planerite ea (545 if in guild with the perk) Hope this helps you

I was under the impression this was a bug, and should have been fixed.
but ok that +20WR isnt that much of an issue when you have a full sigil/machine anyway. but if you can indeed still apply the rune on the barnacle sigil, then they are at a small disadvantage indeed

What I would like to see is an ability or a way to purchase a "general" event currency that I can purchase old event items with. I missed the last two events due to work related issues but I still have a good amount of currency from other events. If we were able to use any event currency and purchase the "general" currency and then purchase old items that would be awesome. Has anyone brought this up? I am not going to sit here and complain about losing the old event currencies but I would like to know the time I spent gathering them doesn't go wasted.

On principle, I'm going to again mention that I don't think this was handled very well. Losing currency we'd saved for a while with no compensation if it went unspent, therefore having to make a bunch of semi-random purchases and hope it's stuff that will be useful to us in the future, and then so much of it being BoP on top of that, requiring some ISS transfers... it's been quite frustrating.

But it's a dead issue now, just hope this is considered in the future!
