    Default Hotfix #9 hidden nerf/bug ?

    ok

    see HERE for more details

so it seems that in the latest hotfix the 2 handed hammer for clerics in the PA trees has recieved a 50% nerf
(maxed out was 8 now 4)

question 1:- is this a bug or a nerf ?
question 2: if this a nerf why is it not in the notes ?
question 3: has this been noticed for any other class/weapon/stat
question 4: why the hell nerf it (assuming it is not a bug)

upgrade currently says increse by 1 but u gain 2 (8 in total when maxed)

a programmer making that kind of mistake just doesn't seem likely. Designer alike. not likely...
anyone else question this? or even know what i'm talking about?

I'm sure you have a complete understanding of the coding and programming of Rift; surely none of the other changes in Hotfix #9 could've accidentally affected Cleric Two-Handed Hammer PAs. This was definitely an intentional and malignant attack against the Clerics that chose to specifically adistribute their Planar Attunement points for two-handed hammers.

    Definite Hammerism.

read over the quote. nothing to do with this post. the mistake is in the words. and i know almost for a fact that for programmers things like proper words and grammar are second nature. idk i just find it strange.
guess it isn't too bad I've seen teachers typing alot.

I think he was referring to the lack of an apostrophe.

Read over what quote? The quote I quoted? The quote you quoted?

And what impact does a teacher's typing have to do with programmers using proper words and grammar as second nature? Are you implying I'm a programmer?

    I'm at such a loss.

You're absolutely correct, no game designer, let alone the lead designer, would ever type a message like that. Obviously someone hacked into Rift and assumed the identity of the lead designer in order to nerf hammer-wielding clerics' PA potential. Thanks to your sharp eyes this evil hacker's plan for world domination has been foiled! Good job!

He could be on his phone where it doesn't auto-correct as we're but were and it's too much of a pain to fix it. I know my pos Samsung works like that with Swype. I used were as we're once and manually punched it in because I was lazy to pull up the alternative keyboard for the punctuation, and now it's the preferred choice for auto-fill/correct. It would also explain the brevity of his post, when he's been long-winded as all hell at times.

It's okay, I am assured that at least one dev selected Hammerkind for their Strife Specibus, so I'm sure it'll get fixed. (And actually, it appears to be purely a display issue, not a behavior change.)
You can play WoW in any MMO. You don't have to play WoW in RIFT. Oh, and no, RIFT is not a WoW clone. Not having fun any more? Learn to play, noob! I don't speak for Riftui, but I moderate stuff there. Got ideas for improving the RIFT community? Feel free to PM me. Just came back? Welcome back! Here's what's changed. (NOTE NEW URL)

Sadly, you are wrong. You'd think so, given how structured some (programming) languages are, but it just doesn't seem to work out this way. http://thedailywtf.com is a good read if you haven't come across it already.

In any case, with a system like Rift's where it sounds like they are working on multiple builds at once, I'm not really surprised simple text errors can make it into a release build. I think they do a pretty awesome job considering the scale of the operation!

This is the most spectacularly incoherent post I have read on these forums in a long long time! (Pretty sure zjosh is complaining about others' lack of understanding of grammar, and then totally misuses the phrase "second nature"). I got some great lols from this, and I needed them this morning. Thanks so much!

Edit: Daglar & team is on it. Stop with the finger-pointing, it's not healthy.
