I'd like it to be instanced right off each main city. Maybe even available at more places than the main cities. I would like it to actually grow based on houses "built". I would like to see upkeep fee's that could be put towards things like roads being built, sidewalks put in, mailboxes at certain locations, even guards etc to keep crime down. By crime I mean it would be interesting to have vandalism like grafitti or broken windows etc. if people didn't donate enough money or something into the community.

I thinkit should be dynamic just like the rest of the world, always open to change and different things happening in neighbourhoods.

But even with the best house on the server, noone really cared about it much. There wasn't much point to do it or even be in the house at all (when I played, atleast.).
I disagree. Every time my guild had to enter my house in EQII to use my rug to teleport for the raid, and their FPS dropped down to 3 because of the vast amounts of pets I crammed into the house, made it all worth while. I can't even remember the name of the raid zone the rug teleported to, even though I'd been there a thousand times, but I can still remember the name of my pet pig that always managed to be halfway under the floor. His name was Bert if you were wondering.

i like guild housing and personal housing - i cant lie. However, it makes a game look desolate and empty. Meridian and Sanctum would be ghost towns. I like seeing and knowing people are playign the game more than the thought of having housing.

I would like to see housing incorporated as part of an expansion. Where housing would be on a new continent/plane and be part of city building and community projects. Whereby players would have to retake and civilize the new area by building it back up and building or rebuilding player towns. crafting stations, housing, portals, farms, and so on. All structures could be attacked and destroyed or taken over by planar creatures. Towns could be seiged and defended from enemies and on PvP servers or PvP zones or PvP lake areas they could be seiged and owned by players. Towns and keeps could be owned and run by guilds.

In other words iI would like to see housing be part of the a sandbox city building expansion that works into community events and story rather than be just be thrown in as an additional fluff item with player storage.
