Coming back to the game... Lot's o' questions!

Ok, so.... I made the mistake of rolling a mage at launch, got bored (because I generally never play a mage in any RPG), and ended up quitting not long after release last year. Long story short, I've decided to give RIFT a much deserved second chance. So here's some questions from a guy who quit less than a month after release...

Also, please forgive me, I've been a WoW player on and off, and I would appreciate it if you don't hate on me for that. Thanks ^_^

1) Are Chloromancers any good (fun? viable? support only w/ Archon?)

I played one in beta and the concept is what drew me to roll a mage in the first place. Healing via dealing damage. It sounded like so much fun! Unfortunately, it was a grind to level, and the other mage specs just bored me My mage is sitting somewhere around lv 35 atm, I think.... He's also my highest leveled toon

2) DPS Warriors?

I love being melee in RPGs but I've never been a huge fan rogues (although, I'll admit, I like the ranged rogues in rift. Probably because my first mmo toon ever was a Hunter in WoW). I don't mind tanking, and I've tanked before (low level with my Warrior in RIFT, and Raiding in WoW on my Death Knight), but I really like melee DPS. Are DPS Warriors viable or laughed at?

3) What niche have clerics fallen into aside from healing?

a.k.a. if I roll a cleric am I expected to be a healing bot, or can I do other things as well (as I recall, there's a tank soul, and a couple DPS souls). Healing has always held a special place in my RPG heart (after I quit RIFT last year, I ended up back in WoW raid healing on my shaman... so fun ^_^ ) so I wouldn't mind being a healer, but I'm wondering if I can branch out as well?

4) Anything big I should probably know / have missed out on?

Since I raided in WoW, I wouldn't mind giving it a shot here... First thing's first, maxing out a toon. On that note, how much of a grind is it to get geared enough for raids? Is raiding a serious thing here like on WoW (more or less so?), etc...

Anyways, anything helpful you guys might tell a RIFT-noob, would be greatly appreciated!

Chloromancers are good. Take that one you have sitting around and level him up as Elemental/Stormcaller for some fun.

Don't play a warrior, but they can do good dps

Clerics have many useful builds. 51 Inq. for range dps, ICAR and Justicar builds for support/dps/healing. Clerics rock.

I made it because we started getting a flood of returning people asking "what's new!!" and I thought "hey, I could totally write this up once".

Basically, it was less work to do that than it would be to write two or three things every time someone asks. :P
