    Default Overriding Buffs and Debuffs

    Is there a big general list of things that override other things?
    I keep learning new crap. I didn't know Wild Growth overrid Spotter's Order and the Archon/Bard equivalents. I didn't know Call to Battle didn't stack with Motif of Bravery a while back...

    Coming in 1.8, per the patch notes quoted below:


    DEBUFF STACKING GROUPS AND PRIORITIES
    * All player debuffs have been assigned priorities within their stacking groups. Less powerful debuffs should no longer overwrite the more powerful ones.
    * Note: The below grouping list does not indicate that the higher listed debuff overwites lower listed ones; the strongest (in terms of amount of stat debuffed) cast on a target from within a stacking group will overwrite weaker value debuffs within the same group. If equal, they will overwrite each other.

    ATTACK POWER DEBUFF 1
    - Druid: Trickster Spirit
    - Riftstalker: Rift Disturbance
    - Saboteur: Debilitating Trap
    - Paladin: Pacifying Strike

    ATTACK POWER DEBUFF 2
    - Archon: Waning Power
    - Necromancer: Looming Demise

    SPELL POWER DEBUFF 1
    - Riftstalker: Rift Disturbance
    - Saboteur: Debilitating Trap
    - Paladin: Pacifying Strike

    SPELL POWER DEBUFF 2
    - Archon: Waning Power
    - Necromancer: Looming Demise

    ARMOR DEBUFF
    - Marksman: Lightning Fury
    - Ranger: Piercing Shot
    - Saboteur: Splinter Charge

    PHYSICAL DAMAGE TAKEN DEBUFF 1
    - Archon: Illuminate
    - Chloromancer: Wild Growth
    - Bard: Coda of Jeopardy
    - Warlord: Spotter's Order

    PHYSICAL DAMAGE TAKEN DEBUFF 2
    - Shaman: Vengeance of the Piercing Cold
    - Archon: Ashen Defense
    - Bard: Coda of Cowardice

    MAGIC DAMAGE TAKEN DEBUFF 1
    - Inquisitor: Clinging Spirit
    - Justicar: Censure
    - Warlock: Neddra's Torture
    - Saboteur: Embers Charge

    MAGIC DAMAGE TAKEN DEBUFF 2
    - Inquisitor: Spiritual Deficiency
    - Archon: Crumbling Resistance
    - Elementalist: Summoner Exposure
    - Bard: Coda of Distress

    INCREASED CASTING TIME DEBUFF
    - Cabalist: Nebulous Haze
    - Archon: Lingering Dust
    - Dominator: Accelerated Decay

    INCREASED CRITICAL HIT DEBUFF
    - Sentinel: Luminous Gaze
    - Assassin: Lethal Poison
    - Champion: Mark of Extermination

    REDUCED HIT CHANCE DEBUFF
    - Ranger: Dire Wolf Howl
    - Warlord: Battlefield Distraction
    - Reaver: Blood Fever

    CASTING COST INCREASE DEBUFF
    - Dominator: Transference
    - Druid: Slothful Spirit

    STRENGTH AND DEXTERITY DEBUFF
    - Archon: Pillaging Stone

    (Mark of Extermination added to INCREASED CRITICAL HIT DEBUFF)
    (Battlefield Distraction and Blood Fever added to REDUCED HIT CHANCE DEBUFF)
    (Untenable Position removed from REDUCED HIT CHANCE DEBUFF)

    Am I the only one who thinks its kinda stupid that a support class (ARCHON) seems to have the lower priority debuffs?

    The other classes should have the weaker ones for the off chance there isn't a support in the group. Support is there for buffing and debuffing, kinda makes sense we'd have the best.

    Agree wholeheartedly. The fact that mage doesn't even have a class of any kind for the first tier of the first two sets (spellpower / attack power) - especially our Support role - is ridiculous.

    What pains me as an Archon is knowing that I MUST cast crumbling resistance and ashen defense in order to get the buff from both to counter the debuffs from the auras, only to have them be overridden by other abilities by other classes.

    I really hope this change means that: I still gain the buffs but they don't overwrite better debuffs already up.

    Because I'm perfectly fine with other classes having better debuffing skills (it means I get to keep the long cast raid-buffs up more)- but it annoys me to no end that these are two abilities I -must- cast for my survival in raids forces the bard to recast the coda debuffs. I'm pretty certain I piss off our bard on a nightly basis due to this.

    If this update isn't the case then I really think that Ashen Defense and Crumbling Resistance should be re-written so that they are on par with the best debuffs, so other classes don't have to worry about debuffing at all.

    according to the list the only thing that should overwrite the archon buffs are cleric abilitys that shouldn't get used! so good news

    Remember what's in the patch notes at the very top--the lists aren't in descending order. The strongest debuff in one of the small groups will take precedence. So even if an Archon debuff is listed third out of five, above, if it's the strongest debuff, it'll be the one that sticks.
