    Default What are your top Crafting Bugs / QoL issues for patch 1.8?

    Afternoon everyone,

    So we've got a number of things in the works for crafters with our 1.8 patch! While we're not quite ready to share the feature update details we would like to sit down and discuss any major bugs or Quality of Life issues you may have and would love to see fixed in 1.8.

    Please keep in mind these isn't really a thread where you can lobby for dramatic changes. But it's definately a place where you can ping us with smaller issues, bugs, and things that generally just make crafting less pleasant day to day.

    Most of mine are QoL;

    - Why does Mighty Brightsurge Vial require one Eternal planar dust when one Mighty Powersurge vial does not? The Heroic brightsurge and powersurge require eternals however... which is whats odd.

    - Why does Heroic Heartshatter and Spiritshatter vials only increase hit/focus by three? This vial is quite underwhelming for the counter parts of the Brightsurge and powersurge vials.

    - "Sheepish Concoction"; please make this either last longer or allow us to cast it on remote players.

    - Why does Glorified Healing Potion require Basiliskweed stems rather twilight bloom roots or tempestflower stems? It seems odd that such a high level crafting item requires medium level mats.


    Possible bug:
    - When making any item that can use an augment, why are we not able to simply right click the augment from our bags into the augment box? Currently we have to manually click and drag the item to the augment box.

    simple but major QoL change for crafters making large quantities of raid consumables (usually for raiding guilds)

    add a recipie that allows us to convert raw mats directly to the refined materials at some kind of decent but similar return rate. (example, X carmintium and X brilliant diamond into X refined gem and X refined metal, or Y carmintium into Z refined metal)

    this would literally save crafters hours of bored time, since for large stacks you can hit craft all then and walk away, rather than manually breaking down literally hundreds of items.

    Why do Fine Oilstones not exist?

    And for QOL: What the above poster said. It's a tough decision on if it's worth the time to make and break 100 bars worth of goods or just buy the dang things off the AH. Takes so long and is so boring.

    Apothecary:

    Dye - why have a dye vendor in town which covers a majority of the colors and apothecary can make and then at a cost which you can't even begin to match and cover mats?

    Potion stacking issues - many recipes have no use whatsoever due to their inability to stack properly with buffs given from players, IE:

    Bottle of Critical Strikes and Spellstrikes do not give full 10%
    Philter of Power does ot stack with motifs
    Serums have no use beyond leveling and crafting dalies
    Resist vials and stat vials not stacking forcing a choice dps vs survivability

    Cost of some recipes in comparison to their effectiveness, IE:

    Glorified Potions meager improvements for excessive mats while still not being better than a Tonic.
    Healing Philter not applicable in many cases due to encounter aoe mechanics.
    Philter of Restoration are lacking in general HPS for it being a HoT should have similar values to a tonic.

    The craft window always opens with everything expanded, I really wish it wouldn't do that.

    There is no search or sort function, this is particularly annoying with runecrafting when you want to find runes that give a certain stat or that go on certain slot.

    It would be nice to be able to click and search for craft ingredients from the craft window the same way you can click in the artifacts window or your bags and search for that item


    Being able to break more than one item at a time would be awesome, a break all in this bag button or some such thing.

    How about in the rune crafter book be able to sort by location the rune is applied to. So you can look at boot or shoulder and see what you have available to make instead of clicking each rune and checking what it can be applied to.

    I dont make runes all the time so I dont know them by heart. Also on all crafts it would be cool to show color of item in the name instead of color of difficulty to make. So if I want to make that pair of blue pants for my rogue alt I can see it easier than a blanket list of grey names.

    The ability to make bulk powerstones and such.

    Same mats, just make more per craft time.

    Such as 10xPowerstones, vials, etc...

    Obviously only works on items that don't use augments, but it would amazing imo.

    When I get low on Mana tonics I have ~500 made at a time. I feel like such a jerk having someone craft for that long. (Even though I tip well)
    Doesn't matter what is put here, someone is going to @#%^& about it, regardless of what it is.

    Agree with pretty much everything said so far, people beat me to it!

    I'd like to see more use for Sparkling Crystals and to a lesser degree Shimmering Crystals. I have stacks of the Sparkling and near nothing to make with them. Doesn't even have to be useful, fluff items are fine if players want them!

    In addition to the comments regarding Mighty and Heroic Vials, I'd like to see Heroic stats bumped a bit. Considering they require almost three times the plat cost in materials to make, a 14% increase in power (+5 stat) is not worth it.

    In addition to the above can Dye's *actually* change the color appropriately? Dying an item yellow often results in a brown, or using white dye simply gets you grey, a light blue gets you navy blue, etc etc.

    Any chance of adding cooking to the game?

    It would be nice if you could filter out low and/or medium level crafting items from your crafting window. I rarely ever craft low level items so they're just cluttering up the window. A few simple checkboxes that can toggle a filter would improve my crafting QoL.

    That would be nice, but you know you can type the slot into the search bar at the bottom and the list updates with runes appropriate to that slot ;)

    Either allow us to break down higher ranked mats into lower ranked mats, or allow us to use the higher ranked mats in place of the lower ranked ones. Endless are one of the main ones, if we could break down eternals into 1-2 endless that would be awesome.

    Also the ability to make the consumables like soul remnants, tempest mirrors etc would be a great addition.

    Give us the ability to stack crafted gear and break down stacks of gear

    Sell Aqua Regia on the artificer vendor in meridian or allow distillates to be manufactured at the alchemy lab instead of the workbench.

    Please remove the recipe for witch weave stitching from defiant's recipe list.
